What I’ve Learned In My Life So Far

I’ve learned that YouTube is like a black hole. You go on it expecting to watch that one thing you planned to watch and before you know it you’ve trapped there.


It’s that hypnotic ‘related videos’ side bar, I tell you, where you get sucked into clicking on video after video until you’re completely hooked. You go from listening to a favourite song to giggling and chortling and snorting and chuckling while watching silly cat video after silly cat video (in my case, anyway). Like this one:

    YouTube is definitely dangerous. I only watch it after dark, after the work's done.

    I live on a farm so there's always work but I do enjoy seeing the accomplishments when I look back.

    Ha! Some of those cats are something else--I thought the one sucking milk from a bottle while the lady held it was so cute...

    And yes, sometimes it can be hard to stop once one gets started on Youtube! 2 minute videos are not quite so bad (though I suppose the could add up). What's really bad is starting a series, and one 30-45 minute show is so good, I start working my way through the series. *gasp*...thankfully I've had enough other things on my mind lately that I haven't been too bad with it. :D

      It can take up quite a lot of time if it spirals out of control! I usually start by listening to a favourite song, which sometimes leads to other videos. And away I go... :)

    Such a cute video. I know what you mean about watching one after another UTube videos. Guess those UTube sidebar thumbnail teasers really poke our curiosity button.

    That is a good one! I get sucked into episodes of "The Graham Norton Show" which is a little odd for me since I don't usually go in for the Hollywood/celebrity type stuff but for whatever reason I just find it too funny! TED Talks and animal videos too....

    A Black hole? No, no...it is like a bowl of peanuts, one is good, so you might as well have all of them! (Or as many as as possible!) HA! Please note that GEORGIA is the largest producer of peanuts so I got a plug in there for my state.
    Alas, no money will come my way for this but still...

    That is so so so true! I always get stuck for way too long when I want to watch ONE YouTube video LOL

    I can sooo relate. One time I saw one interesting video that caught my attention, next thing I know- I have watched all its episode. :)

      Me, too! That was a favourite for sure. So funny. The weekend was nice. Yesterday was very beautiful, so we spent it all outdoors. It's been a little busy around here, especially with my daughter getting ready for university, so it was nice getting away from it all!
