This young lady is really enjoying university. |
Alex is doing great. Her classes are going very well, she's made a lot of new friends and she is loving life in Ottawa.
It was a beautiful day, so we went for a walk in the downtown area near her residence. When the hunger pains hit, we stopped off for dinner at a restaurant where the food was good and the dessert was even better.
We shared this piece of oh-so-amazingly-delicious cheesecake. |
We had a really lovely time and returned home happy and rejuvenated. It was a much-needed break.
Today we get back to renovations but before we do, here's something to tickle your funny bone.
Have a great day, friends!
Glad you had a good time with your daughter. Love the family picture, and that piece of cheesecake looks heavenly! Good one about the cardiologist! I never thought I'd enjoy the medical profession, but I think I might enjoy that job! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you, Bethany. That's a medical profession that is quite enjoyable :)
DeleteHey, I ate in Dunn's the last time I was in Ottawa too! Clearly I made a mistake by not having the cheesecake. Glad your daughter is enjoying university. It really is a magical time of life.
ReplyDeleteNext time you are there, Debra, don't miss out on the cheesecake. It is very VERY good.
DeleteSo glad your daughter is enjoying college. It's the best years! And, so happy you took a much needed break.
ReplyDeleteShe is having a great time. I think these next four years will just zip right by!
DeleteI loved the cardiologist! hahahahahahahah! Love the family photo!
ReplyDeleteThat would be a great job :)
DeleteOh my gosh with that dessert! Yummy! Glad you had a good visit with your daughter and that she is adjusting well to university!! Had to laugh with the cardiologist one as I used to work for lots of cardiologists :)
ReplyDeletebetty
It was wonderful visiting her. And we really enjoyed the break from the renovations.
DeleteGlad to read that you got a well-needed break along with family and good food. The best.
ReplyDeleteHere's wishing you another kickass week. Once I'm done reading blogs, I'm off the the movie room to sort DVDs and donate what we don't want. My whole way of thinking is, do I want to take this to the new house? If no, out the flip it goes.
Gooooodbye! Not to you, to the stuff.
I love your way of thinking. That's what I do, too. Out, out, out...the best!
DeleteLast night there were a few DVDs and collections that I was having a hard time with. We have CSI on DVD, five seasons and we don't watch it anymore. But because we bought it back in the day when they were expensive, I was having a hard time donating them. Today, they're in the donate pile.
DeleteI dropped stuff off yesterday, just some fabric, and that felt good.
I'm back. I'd email you but the tablet is allllll the way on the east wing of the trailer and it's such a far walk. Anyway, I got the DVDs ready to go. Even the expensive ones that we don't watch. And on the shelf, I placed all my whole food books.
DeleteTim's books are in his office, but mine I read in the Lemon Tart Room.
Anyway, had to come by and tell you. Now ... I'm gonna fish dish and then sit back down to watch more Lucy.
Hehehe...I love these surprise little messages. They are fun to read :)
DeleteHow lovely you got to visit your daughter! That 'sex scandal' one made be burst out laughing.
ReplyDeleteIt was a really nice visit. I'm so happy she's enjoying living in Ottawa.
DeleteA very rewarding weekend indeed, Martha! Can see on everyone's faces that all is well.
ReplyDeleteHaven't been to Ottawa for years....must get back.
That 'tight-lipped' dog tells all!! lol
I think you'd really enjoy a visit to Ottawa, Jim. It's such a beautiful city.
DeleteSo wonderful you got to visit your daughter. I am glad she's doing well and is happy in her new environment.
ReplyDeleteShe's happy and that is the best thing. She will really enjoy her university years.
DeleteThey make some these desserts a work of art.
ReplyDeleteThey really do. It looked nice and tasted great.
DeleteWhat if you don't like pizza rolls? Is that why people are voting for Trump?
ReplyDeleteOh wait no, they vote for Trump because they enjoy his racist comments
That would do it.
DeleteBeautiful daughter and cheesecake!
ReplyDeleteOk...break over....back to work!
Cheers!

Cheesecake is one of the few desserts I like. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, so it takes something special to get my interest.
DeleteJust love that photo of the three of you.
