Fatigue and More Fatigue

This is how I feel these days:

August was a busy month. In addition to helping my daughter get ready to leave for university this week (It’s unbelievable how many things she needs to take with her. I’ve done more shopping in one month than I’ve done in the past five years), I also tackled many small jobs and a lot of decluttering. Be gone, crap, be gone.

And there is still so much to do...

Now that September has arrived, the most amazing man in the world will take three weeks off from work and we’ll tackle the big jobs together. The house should be up for sale at the end of the month. Then there’s house hunting...packing...moving...work to be done in the other home...oof...

I'm headed towards this:

So...what's up with you?

  1. I don't know what's wrong with me I find it harder and harder to blog, I see no inspiration in my photos, I just don't know what's wrong with me, i can't seem to hold on even on my favourites....I feel lost

    1. Loraine I just went through that, I was "off" for about 6 weeks. I tried to posts and comments on the one I followed but it was not "natural' my heart was not in it. So I took a whole week vacation from blogs, didn't read, didn't post, didn't even think about posting. I'm back now, fully there, Did I do a burn-out or more appropriately a blog-out, I don't know, but I know that once in a while, resting is the best solution even from things we enjoy.

    2. Richard is right, Lorraine! Perhaps a break will help. Blog burnout happens to everyone. Also, like I wrote on your post today, autumn is coming with its shorter days and that really weighs us down. I hope you feel better soon, girl!

  2. You certainly have a full plate. I'm still trying to get in the swing of school being back in session and trying to find my rhythm.

  3. These pics make me laugh. I always love that you bring smiles to us <3
You have SO much going on. But doesn't it feel amazing when we get all those little and big things done?
I hope you get to enjoy the house hunting and making a new place feel like home :) I can't wait to read about it :D
Have a wonderful day! Hugs, Beate

    1. It does feel amazing when all those jobs get done! I can't wait till this is all over. Sure it'll be exhausting, but the end result is worth it.

Thanks for dropping by, Beate! Hugs to you, too :)

  4. At the end (NOT the one that you walk toward the light), it will be sooooo worth it!

When I de-cluttered, I used to pile of my crap by the road with a sign "free", I would return to add more crap and the pile would be gone (MAGIC) even the 'free' sign was gone... so it is true a person crap is someone else... crap now! LOL

    1. I totally agree! It will definitely be worth it. We've given away a lot of things over the years and now that we're downsizing, it'll be the MEGA load giveaway. I'm very excited about that. I'm a minimalist, so I get a thrill out of getting rid of crap.

    1. Yes, and a much smaller one at that. It will require less work, which will free up more time for things we enjoy doing. Win-win!

    1. Not easy at all. It's the timing. If we manage to sell our house and find another we like at the same time, it'll be a miracle!

  13. Make sure you do allow yourself a little bit of time to play :) It can be so overwhelming but its nice to know that there will be eventually an end in sight and then you'll be enjoying your new home :) On the plus side, the house my hubby is selling is in escrow and should close any day :)

Yes a tiring but exciting time ... hang on in there !

All your blog followers will send loads of positive thoughts your way to help out.
If all else fails, I've always got a nice bottle of wine chilling ... I'll pour you a glass to relax at the end of a busy day.

As Ivy said just think by Christmas you could be in your new place.

    Take Care

    All the best Jan

PS Good luck to your daughter as she starts at Uni.

  17. Now I know why I've never moved. I'll bet you're having second thoughts.

    1. No second thoughts here! Not with this move. When we're done, we will have gotten rid of at least half the things here and moved into a much smaller space, which will be easy to maintain. It's tiring in the meantime but the end result is well worth it.
