WAH...I don't Want To Clean Windows!

And so I cleaned some windows yesterday. I did it but I didn't like it. Not. One. Bit. Because I cannot stand cleaning windows. It's right up there with ironing and vacuuming carpets, especially carpets on stairs. Three chores that make me nuts.

Today I do a little more painting, which I don't mind at all. Oh sure, I'm not a fan of the preparation and cleanup, but the rest is easy. And rather enjoyable. Almost meditative.

The third week of renovations is coming to an end and the house is looking mighty fine, if I do say so myself. We have cuts and bruises and scrapes and just about every part of our body aches, but the most amazing man in the world and I have done good work. And we're still standing.

It won't be long now before we hammer in a "For Sale" sign on our front lawn. With great joy. Because we can't wait to get the heck out of here!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

  2. Yeah, cleaning windows sucks big time. Actually, any kind of cleaning does, in my opinion.

  3. I don't do windows well myself. My best intentions and they still come out streaky. Good job for the 2 of you!! Handling these renovations and still talking to each other :) Job well done and like I said before, it will pay off!! Now my weekly advice, make sure to have a bit of fun this weekend!

  4. I also dislike all the things you mentioned. The only household chore I remotely enjoy, beside cooking, is doing laundry. Hope you get to take the weekend off! :)

    1. It's funny you should mention that because I don't mind laundry either. But when it comes to folding and putting the clean clothes away, well...that's another story :)

  5. Have you started looking for a new home yet? I hope the old owners leave your new home as clean as you are leaving yours!

    1. I look online just about every day now. So far we haven't seen anything we really REALLY like but there are a couple of homes we'd like to take a closer look at, mostly because the size seems about right. We'll start visiting houses regularly from here on in. I don't have high hopes that we'll find the perfectly clean home, though. I've visited enough homes in the past to know that that's not always the case!

  6. I'm wondering how you clean those windows. I used to use vinegar & newspaper but now that i get my newspaper delivered electronically I'm back to cloth cleaning. (First world problem)

    1. Vinegar is great. I use cloths but I also use paper towels. And we receive a city (news) paper (for free) with our weekly flyers, and that comes in handy, too.

  7. Windows and mirrors frustrate me as well. I enjoy cleaning them for the first 2 minutes and then I start getting frustrated at every streak I can't conquer! Congratulations on all your projects-sounds like you're sooooo close to the finish line!

Hey girl, you still can't comment? I now know what you are experiencing because it happened to me on another blog! What I do is click on the comments link from the main page and that allows me to get to the comment section.

  8. I don't mind cleaning windows, it's mirror I hate... I always feels like the man who is looking back at me, is judging my mirror job! LOL

  11. Everybody has jobes that they don't like. I'm surprised you didn't ask us what the worst jobs are for us. I don't like vacuuming furniture.

    1. Normally I ask but this time I didn't think of it. I guess I'm just too tired! Vacuuming furniture is definitely not fun! Although I prefer it to ironing. Nothing is worse than ironing for me.

  12. You got it backwards! I'd far rather wash windows than paint!
