Interesting Sightings

"I find humor in many situations and things and I tend to make photographs that point out these things.
We photograph according to our character."
- Huy Nguyen -

It's been awhile since I shared some interesting, unusual, fascinating and even entertaining things I’ve spotted with camera in hand in a world that is a photographer's playground. So here we go...

Isn't this a really cool name for an antique shop?
(Spotted in Napanee, Ontario)

Oh, look! It's Pumbaa from the lion king.

The 'Tent Room' in Rideau Hall (a residence and workplace of every governor general of Canada since 1867)
reminds me of the circus. It's used to host formal events where you'll oftentimes see clowns, a.k.a. politicians.

"Oh my, what big teeth you've got!"

Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Numerous nautical knots!

And here I thought my phone was outdated.
(Spotted at Casa Loma in Toronto)

You just know that someone made this sign necessary.

It's just full of comedians here in Kingston.

I'm not sure when we starting arming our beavers.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

  15. Happy Saturday, Martha! I don't know what happened to this week; well, I know part of it went to a 16-hour straight creative binge ~ LOL ~ and then there was recovering from that ~ so here I am catching up again!

You had such interesting posts this week, but them you always do. My first big ticket item was going to Europe with a girlfriend in 1972. We bought a Volkswagen van on a back alley in Amsterdam and toured a number of countries. That trip altered my life forever when I met my first husband and ended up living in California and the USA. Where would I go if I could: Antarctica! I'd go in a heartbeat! I'm grateful for my five senses too; and I can't imagine losing any one of them.

I enjoyed your selection of photos above, Martha! I do the same thing; I snap anything funny or incongruous that I see. Look out world ~ I just got my first smart phone yesterday, and it's supposed to have a wonderful camera. Another steep learning curve in front of me!

Enjoy your quiet time in your refreshed house! But I hope that it sells soon and you get get settled in your new home! Hugs!

    1. I always enjoy your energized comments, Louise! Wow, I LOVE your first big ticket item. That is awesome. What an amazing time you must have had. And Antarctica! Now there's a destination you don't hear someone mention very often. But it's a great one and I'd travel there, too. I think it would be absolutely incredible. We're hoping our home doesn't take long to sell but you can't predict these things. We'll just stay optimistic. Whatever will be will be. Hugs right back at you!
