Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, everyone. How are you doing? I hear some of you got quite a bit of snow. Not a single flake here, which is fine with me. Snow is pretty but we have it long enough around here therefore I'm not in a rush for its arrival. I prefer when it shows up near the holidays. And I'd love if it would last for only about a month. Wishful thinking, I know.

Do any of you use Skype? My daughter asked me to download that software onto my tablet when she moved to her university residence so we could video chat sometimes. I did and we've  connected through it a couple of times. It is one of the coolest things I've ever used. I'm typically reluctant with modern technology but this  software is pretty awesome.

Anyhow, just thought I'd mention it. And now that I have, let's get to the funny stuff.

Have a great day!

  1. I loved the dog digging up the yard because it was a corgi :) Funny with the clerk and the lady at the store, isn't that the truth sometimes?

I haven't Skyped but my sister does with her daughters; they were both away at school. It is a great way to stay in touch indeed!

    1. It really is a great way to stay in touch. I like being able to see my daughter while I speak with her. It adds the physical expression necessary to make the conversation more interesting.

  3. No snow here...we rarely get snow and when we do, a few flurries can shut the whole town down. We moved to a peninsula in a Northern part of the city, so I know snow will get us this winter and probably the roads will be unpassable for days. I plan to stock up my extra freezer with a week's worth of food just in case.

  5. Daisy wanted Game of Thrones Monopoly for Christmas, I don't really like monopoly anymore so this will be a fun Christmas when she makes me play it several times. The only reason I agreed is because we really like Game of Thrones

  6. I use skype from time to time. It's nice but a little awkward as you have to arrange a time.

  7. Best one...the cashier! Oh how I wanted to be able to really say what I was thinking so many times when I worked with the public..lol. Skype is a great thing. I am able to use it to chat with my friends in other countries. What did we ever do without it?!

  10. We use Skype and google hangouts, then way back we used IM to chat too. But Skype and GH for voice chats are pretty cool. Hubby is a gamer, so this is normal around here. In fact, he and his buddies are all online now, talking and playing a game. It's a great way for them to play when they live too far for face to face games. Or even just to game online even when local.

Glad you're having a fun go of it.

    1. I'm pretty new to this but I'm so glad I downloaded it. It's such a great way to communicate with her and see how she's doing.

    2. Glad you're having fun. The guys are gaming again tonight. They all have their headphones on. And this group, none of them live close by, so it's nice that they get to do this once per week.

      Enjoy your new found fun.

  11. I love Skype. I only use it to talk to my kids but it is a great way to stay in touch. A lot of my elderly clients use it to talk to their grandchildren.

My mom got rid off all the board-games after one too many episodes like the one above.

  12. I'm with you on wishing we could only have snow for a month--well, actually a month at the most! I'd prefer to have more 70-degree weather!

I do use Skype occasionally. It's pretty awesome to be able to see, hear, and talk with a person far away in real time! My favorite today is the dog digging in the yard...there's a reason for not keeping a backhoe handy! Though our puppy is 13 now, so it probably would be safe to get one as she's probably past the age of picking up bad habits.

    1. Yes, definitely a month at the most! I prefer warmer weather because I like being outdoors. And winters get awfully cold here! Not that you can't go outdoors in the winter. You certainly can. But you can't stay out as long!
