Fill In The Blank

...a book (or two or three). And a pair of reading glasses. 'Cause these old eyes just aren't what they used to be.

Right now I'm enjoying "Learning to swim", a mystery thriller by Sara J. Henry. It's the first book I'm reading by this author and it's quite engaging.

What's on your night stand?

  3. Oh boy! Lip chap, earplugs, mouth guards, my thyroid medication, hair retaining implements, an old garlic jar filled with pens, hand lotion, a lamp, and a beautiful hexagonal fabric table cover, not really a tablecloth in my book, something else. I keep my books on the floor with my heating pad since there ain't much room up top for anything else than a phone or a water bottle!

  8. I don't have a nightstand. I keep one alarm clock on my headboard and a book in my headboard shelf. And I have a lamp, another alarm clock and 2 other clocks on my dresser...you might say I'm a bit obsessed with waking up on time.

  10. I have a chin hair that needs to be plucked. I really need to start carrying tweezers.

    1. We're at that period in our lives, Birdie, where tweezers become a necessity :)

  11. I have a lamp, usually a book or two, a small china jug filled with multi-coloured pens for writing in my journal, a phone, a box of Kleenex, and a little tray on which I toss my earrings when I take them off at the end of the night. (I am enjoying your blog, just discovered it a little while ago.) -Jenn

  12. Right now my nightstand is empty and clean of everything. But we did just redo the bedroom and it's very clean and void of objects. I flippin' love it.

    1. Don't you just love when stuff is clean and empty like that? It takes me quite sometime before adding anything when it looks that way. And sometimes I never do. There is nothing on the top of some furniture in our home. That's the minimalist in me.

    2. I do love it, yes. My writing desk is without clutter and without Internet. But in my lab, I do have lots of tools that are used daily. But I maintain my stance of, use it or lose it.

  14. Just a coaster to hold a bottle of water in case I get choked up in the night! I read on a Kindle...and it's usually on my treadmill!

    1. Oh, another treadmill girl! I do that, too. I often read a photography magazine while on it but mostly I watch TV.

  16. As well as the reading spectacles, two or three books, glass of water and Kindle, there is always my dog's latest toy that I have been tossing while I read. When it's time to settle, the toy goes on the nightstand or else I can't sleep because he will be laying at the foot of the bed, staring at me all night, waiting for me to throw the ball! Border Collies are a tad bit neurotic!

    1. HAHAHA! I had a good laugh with the comment about your dog. That is cute. And funny. Border Collies are my favourite! I considered getting one when I moved here. I changed my mind when I realized that I'd be the ONLY one caring for it. Somehow that didn't seem fair!
