Thank you to all who stood - and to all who stand - for our peace and freedom.

We remember.

  2. That was a beautiful tribute to the people who served in Canada; and Canada is such a pretty country! Glad to see the different memorials too for those brave people.

We need to always remember with gratitude those who have served to keep our countries free.

  5. Beautiful and touching tribute, Martha. I've heard the tune to"God Bless You Canada" before, but as "God Bless the USA," so it was neat to hear the Canadian version. It appears the original songwriter, Lee Greenwood, composed a version for both countries. It would be hard to ask for a better neighboring country than Canada. Blessings to all our veterans. Happy Remembrance Day!

    1. I agree, Bethany. I am grateful to be neighbours with your country. We live in peace together. And I am also grateful for all those who have made it possible (and continue to do so) for all of us to enjoy peace and freedom. I was born here and have spent my entire life here, enjoying this type of life. For my parents it was different. They were in Europe during Word War II, a period that both have described as the most difficult years of their lives. They witnessed things I cannot even imagine. War. So ugly. So devastating. It is disturbing what humans do to each other. I dream of a world where there is peace for all.
