...mild.
No snow here. Not a single flake. The only snow around is coming from the song "Let It Snow" that's been stuck in my head for a few days. I find myself singing it throughout the day at home. And in public. Maybe it's because subconsciously I'm hoping for some snow for the holidays because it just doesn't feel like Christmas without it.
But it seems I'm not the only one inflicted with this earworm. On Tuesday evening I was out doing some shopping and a man walking by me was singing it. Which got me singing. Who knows how many others we infected that day.
So now I dare you to press on the play button in the video below. Go on, try it and see what happens. See if you get this tune stuck in your head.
And you know what else? I don't think anyone can do this song better than Dean Martin.
Have a great day, everyone!
MY particular earworm has been "Winter Wonderland." We have enough snow here to make everything white but it is very mild.
ReplyDeleteMaybe some of it will melt. A little snow around Christmas is kind of nice but not too much, especially with people traveling over the holidays.
DeleteI hadn't heard his rendition; it is very nice :) I used to laugh when we lived in Southern California (and a very rare chance of snow) people would have Christmas decorations up that said "Let it Snow" and I'm thinking wishful thinkers :)
ReplyDeleteAll the years we lived in Montana (8 Christmases) we only had a handful of white ones, but then January made up for it :)
Happy weekend!
betty
I kind of like a little snow around Christmas time; makes it much more beautiful. But once the holidays are over, I'd love for the snow to disappear!
DeleteI'm trying to tune out Christmas music. A whole month of it gets tiring
ReplyDeleteIt sure can get tiring if you're not in the mood for it.
DeleteI have been listening to a lot of Christmas music, it 's great! I can wait a few more weeks for snow, right before Christmas would be fine!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, Christine. A little snow right before Christmas would be very nice. I don't need it too early and I certainly don't want it hanging around long after the holidays are over.
DeleteI spend most of my days with a 17 month old who adores Mickey Mouse, not the whole show but just the opening song and the closing song. If I could replace, "Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog" with "Let It Snow" it would save my sanity!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA! This was so funny. And I totally understand. It reminds me of when my daughter was a toddler and a huge fan of Barney the dinosaur. The song "I love you, you love me..." can also drive you crazy after you've heard it a bazillion times!
DeleteI do like Dean's singing of that song. We can never count on snow for Christmas here, bit jealous of ya in that regard! Although Washingtonians driving in snow isn't too fun, so it's probably a good thing overall.
ReplyDeleteSome years we have so much snow that it drives me mad! I'd be happy to ship you some during those winters :)
DeleteTo keep the little sanity I have left... I didn't play your tune! BUT DARN it still plays in my mind!
ReplyDeleteIt's a tricky one, Richard. Even thinking about it gets it stuck in your head!
DeleteI enjoyed the video even though I'm not in the Christmas mood yet.
ReplyDeleteI hope it hits you at some point!
DeleteSnow? At Christmas which is the middle of summer? That would be so weird. Christmas is hot and sunny, days by the pool or at the beach or under the air conditioner, ripping the heads off cold cooked prawns (shrimp), and salads, and frozen desserts, the kitchen an unbearable sauna as the turkey cooks.
ReplyDeleteIt's a whole different world where you live! We're just getting started with winter!
DeleteWell, Dean Martin was one of my favorites. Wasn't Dean Martin in a comedy show with somebody else?
ReplyDeleteI think it was Jerry Lewis if my memory serves me right. Both very talented. Dean Martin also had an incredible singing voice.
DeleteWe missed the snow that hit Nova Scotia last night!! One of the benefits of living near the coast I guess.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get your snow soon, Martha. Have a good weekend.
Not too soon, Jim! LOL... Just a little before Christmas will be fine :)
DeleteCute post and lovely song. Dean Martin was always a favourite of mine in old movies. I hope you get somesnow soon.
ReplyDeleteDean Martin was quite a character. And his singing was great. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI don't mind singing that song! I'm singing it loud and proud in hopes our local ski resorts will get a big dump of the white stuff!
ReplyDeleteI know how much you love skiing, Linda, so I hope you get tons of snow this winter!
DeleteSnow here means mass hysteria at the grocery store as everyone stocks up like it's the apocalypse...so DON'T let it snow here! It usually doesn't snow here until February or March, oddly.
ReplyDeleteThat's understandable. If you're not an area that's used to snow, it can be quite a stressful thing to contend with!
DeleteI LOVE DEAN MARTIN!!!! I played it and am singing it now. I know it won't snow in Florida but it's a great holiday song.
ReplyDeleteDean Martin is fantastic with holidays songs. He's got the perfect voice for them.
DeleteI think as soon as it hits 1st December ... this song just comes into my mind!
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I know what you mean, Jan; that happens to me, too! 'Tis the season...
DeleteLove it. He does it the best, agreed.
ReplyDeleteIt's his voice. It's just so perfect for these types of songs.
DeleteTrue. And I love how some xmas songs can be so sad, too.
DeleteI know what you mean. There are a few that really get to me. Remind me of loved ones that have died. Or they take me back in time and I feel overwhelmed with nostalgia. Some make me think of all my present good fortune and I get all emotional. I'm such a sap :)
