Chuckles and Chortles

Happy first Monday of the year, everyone. And the first 'Chuckles and Chortles' post. How's everyone post holidays? We're cold. No, not cold. Freezing. We're freezing our buns off. It's -15ºC (5ºF) as I type this. We tried hiding but winter has finally found us. The good news is that it'll warm up starting tomorrow, so things are looking up. What's going on where you live?

Shall we get to the funny stuff? Here we go...

Have a good one!

  1. WHOA I can't believe it is that cold where you are! And here I was complaining about the December heat wave because it didn't feel like Christmas at 80 degrees. Thankfully it has cooled off considerably yesterday and today. Oh, and those puppies are SO me today having to get my lazy butt out of bed after a 2 week break.

    1. So far we've been lucky because this is the first really winter-ish period we've had. It's been pretty mild up until now. This cold isn't sticking around, though; it's getting warmer already.

We all have moments like those puppies...LOL...

  2. LOL about the dog in the snow and the asparagus field :) Brrrr!!!! That is downright cold for you guys; hoping it does warm up tomorrow! That is bone chilling, I'm never getting warm, the heater is running all the time cold! Supposed to be doing lots of rain/snow mix this week with cooler temps; I'm looking forward to Phoenix myself :)

    1. I'd fly down to Phoenix right now if I could, Betty! LOL... I'm not a winter lover. But this too will pass, as they say... :)

  3. Loved the tumbled bulls and the Thesaurus.

Cold here but not that cold. Every thing is white with frost. I'm ready for spring.

  6. 5 degrees? Just reading that made me cold to the bone. I'm off to take a hot shower.

  7. Love the "astronaut carrot!" We got snow and then freezing rain yesterday. My car looks like a Popsicle. Stay warm where you are!

    1. Freezing rain is the worst! Very dangerous. I hope it's clearing up where you are.

  8. We've had the cold and snow for eight weeks! Just normal winter. This year we really have to work on those old photos. Lots of these cartoons are good chucklers today.

    1. Yes, it certainly is normal winter for us Canadians. We've been very lucky up until now with mild weather!

  9. And I thought 18C was cold! But then it is summer here. I don't mind a bit of cool and rainy. So glad it's not -15C. I hope you warm up soon.

    1. I'll be happy when this cold is gone! I don't mind some winter but -15C is awful. You really can't do much with that. Way too cold to be outdoors.

  10. Age of asparagus-HA! Thesaurus-hehe! These were my favorites. It's cold here, not quite freezing during the day but gets there at night. Been taking in my hummingbird feeder so they aren't left with a disappointing popsicle in the mornings :) We got some snow yesterday and today but it has nearly all disappeared already :)

    1. As long as you don't get frigid weather like -15C, it's okay! A little winter weather is okay. But freezing days...nope...no, thanks :)

  11. Hey Martha,

    How's it goin', eh? :)

Penny the Jack Russell dog and modest internet superstar tells the cat that of course, dog is god spelt backwards.

A delightful collection of cartoon captions, methinks. Welcome to 2016 and finally, the year we get those flying cars.

    Gary :)

  12. I should not complain because I'm in CA, but it's cold enough that I'd like to stay in those stages of getting up. That one's my favorite.
Have a good week, Martha, and drink hot cocoa. That's always my advice when it's cold. Or warm. Or in-between.
