Winter

You can't escape it where I live. Sooner or later it will find you. The temperature will plummet, the snow will fall and Jack Frost will add designs to cold windows.

Winter

It makes me feel like climbing into a warm bed, curling up...

Cozy Kitty

...and sleeping the day away.

Sleepy Kitty

Winter. It has found its way here.

How is the weather where you are?

  1. We had a big dump of snow again last night, but the windy, crazy squalls seem to be over now. -Jenn

    1. It's nice when all that settles down; then it's not so bad anymore!

  2. January is a 'funny old month' for weather.
At the moment we have light rain ... with possible light snow for later.

Parts of the UK have experienced terrible flooding this year with December 2015 being the wettest ever.
Now January 2016 the forecasters say may be the coldest ever ... we will have to wait and see.

Me, I'm off to put the kettle on.

Have a great Thursday - keep warm

    All the best Jan

  3. I love that picture of your window. Winters here in southeastern NC are very mild. Sadly if we want to see snow, we have to go visit it. :(

    1. Well, you're much further south, so that would do it. I don't mind milder weather. A little bit of snow is fun but months worth isn't!

  4. Love your frosty window picture, and your kitty is beautiful! It has been pretty cold lately, but we're supposed to have a thaw today with temperatures up around 40F/4C. Stay warm!

    1. That's downright spring, Bethany :) Well, we've been pretty spoiled for the past couple of months, so I won't complain. Winter took very long to get here and it still hasn't been that bad.

  6. Yep; can't escape it, maybe postpone it, but it does eventually arrive. We had chilly cold weather the first of the year; now it is getting a little bearable with lows in the 20s and highs in the mid 50s. Stay warm if you can!

    1. We've had it pretty easy this winter so far. And since we're halfway through January, I'm guessing that this will be one of the easier winters!

    1. This is actually my daughter's cat, Daeny, named after the character Daenerys. Daeny is a calico and she was adopted from the local humane society by my daughter when she stayed with us for a couple of months in 2012. Then the two of them returned to Montreal together. She is the sweetest, most sociable cat I've ever seen. Absolutely adorable. I took these images when we were visiting in Montreal over the holidays.

  16. I don't know how you do it. I just read about temps under 40 degrees and my bones get icy cold and I shiver. You must come from pioneer stock!

    1. On the contrary, Toni, I come from Mediterranean stock! I'm much more comfortable in warmer temperatures, but I'm here, so I have to deal with it :)

    1. Yes, I imagine your winters are nothing like ours and certainly a lot easier to handle! And I haven't been to Phoenix but I've no doubt that your summers are quite brutal.
