Happy Monday, everyone. Did you all have a nice weekend? For some Canadians the weekend is still going on because of Family Day, which is not a national statutory holiday and only celebrated in a few provinces in the country, one of them being Ontario where I live. In any case, some lucky folks are enjoying an extra day off.
I received some news from my university-attending daughter on Saturday. She signed her first lease for an apartment, which means she'll be staying year round in Ottawa while she studies. And earlier in the month she informed me that she had received a scholarship that she hadn't applied for from a Canadian media and broadcasting company (not sure if I should share the name, so I won't), which means that she is currently the most outstanding journalism student at her university. These are very exciting times for her and I'm brimming with pride!
Okay, so now that I've shared my happy news, let's laugh it up...
Have a good one!
Congratulations to your daughter, I know you are very proud of her.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda. I am indeed very proud!

ReplyDeleteWow, that's fast!
DeleteSo that's what happens to my socks! It makes total sense.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your daughter! That is great news.
The mystery about the missing socks may be solved :)
DeleteAnd thank you about my daughter. It is very good news.
Happy family day! Unfortunately we can't get to the discount valentine chocolate due to the fact that stores are closed today! Very well done for your daughter!! That is quite an achievement! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteThat is true! The stores were closed :)

DeleteCongrats on your daughter's scholarship! I love the funny about Feb 15th holiday!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda!
DeleteWow congratulations! But I assume a bit sad for you that she is living away from you full time.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Natalie. And yes, it is a bit sad that she'll be away full time. But I'm also so happy that she's able to do this. This demonstrates that she is confident and eager to go out and live her life. And that is a very good thing.
DeleteCongratulations to your daughter. Yes, you should be proud.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Red! I'm also very happy that she has the confidence to do all these things.
DeleteWhat a wonderful accomplishment for your daughter! So happy for you! And for her! Hope you had a good Family Day, we're bracing for a snow storm tonight! Which would have just been more of the same last winter but right now seems like a terrible imposition!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Francie! I'm so proud of her. She will have very fond memories of these years.
DeleteWe are having a snowstorm as I write this. Yes, last year it would have been just another one of these days but this year it is an imposition because winter has been so easy up until now. We've been spoiled!
"which means that she is currently the most outstanding journalism student at her university. These are very exciting times for her and I'm brimming with pride!"
ReplyDeleteWow - well done to your daughter - congratulations.
So true the caption for February 15th!
Hope you had a wonderful Valentines' Day
All the best Jan
Thanks, Jan. I'm happy knowing my daughter is doing well and very comfortable taking care of herself.
DeleteHOW WONDERFUL, she takes after her mom;) burst out laughing at the jokes, especially the last one, it's so darn true, I vote that people who have garage sale bring out bowls and tops that don't fit, chances are some will finally have the right fit. Atta Girl!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea, Lorraine! Finding new homes for those bowls and tops that have none :)
DeleteWow! I know your one proud Mama! Congrats to your smart daughter!
ReplyDeleteLisa
Thanks, Lisa! I am indeed very proud :)
DeleteGood ones this week! Congrats to your daughter on the scholarship!
ReplyDeleteHeh, that War and Peace in the magazine pile is funny! Love the dog's expression, and I totally agree on Feb. 15th being the real holiday!
