Off The Mark Prediction

"There is no reason anyone would want a computer in their home."
- Ken Olson, president, chairman and founder of Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC),
in a talk given to a 1977 World Future Society meeting in Boston -

And yet here we all are...on computers.

Sometimes it's best not to say too much.

  1. Guilty your honour. I have been known to 'say too much' at times, especially when I was in school and always getting into trouble.
    I love computers!!

  2. At this very moment there are 4 laptops, 1 pc, 2 Ipads, 3 Fire tablets in our house, not to mention the 5 smart phones, the old Commodore 64 and Sinclair Time packed away for posterity. Ken Olson was not a prophet!

p.s. and security cameras and a noisy dog who doesn't like strangers just in case someone is inspired to come 'borrow' any of our equipment!

  3. For the price they were in 1977, I wouldn't had wanted one either. Still funny though.

We have three laptops, one tablet, one ipod touch, and three cell dumbphones were are technically computers too along with three video game consoles and two video game handhelds.
