You know what the most amazing man in the world and I watched last night? The Martian. We've been meaning to watch it for awhile but I wanted to finish reading the book first, which I did, yesterday evening. I really enjoyed the movie but I preferred the book. It's more detailed with a better story, as books usually are, and there is a lot more humour in it; one of the best parts of the story. Have you seen it? It's worth watching. But if you're a bookaholic like me, read the book first!
Anyhow, shall we get to the funny stuff? Okay, let's do it!
Have a great day!
I love ALL of those!! Very funny picks. As for the Martian movie. I liked the movie more than I thought I would. When I saw the trailer, I thought maybe it was just too much to expect that it would keep viewers entertained with it's limited cast and story line. BUT it really did keep me interested.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure about reading the book because I didn't think it would be my type. But a blogging pal highly recommended it and I thought "Meh, why not?" Well, I'm glad I did because it was such a good story! So naturelly, the movie was going to be seen.
DeleteSome cute ones!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Thanks, Gail. I hope you're having a wonderful week!
DeleteI did see the Martian; didn't read the book (didn't know it there was a book, LOL). I did like the movie :)
ReplyDeleteLOL with the ghost and the cake. I think I can relate to that!
betty
I'm glad I took the time to read the book because it includes a lot of what the main character is thinking. You can't capture that in the movie!
DeleteI haven't seen The Martian. Thanks for the laughs! Oh I love cake.
ReplyDeleteConsider watching it, Christine. I think you'll like it.
DeleteGreat collection of funnies! Thanks for giving me a smile this morning.
ReplyDeletelol
DeleteWe watched The Martian this weekend, too. It's a fun movie and story!
DeleteGlad you enjoyed, Linda!
DeleteHi, shortybear! *waves*
DeleteHey, Rachel rbs. Nice to see a new visitor!
DeleteLOL! These are all great! Thanks so much for sharing. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed, Linda! Nice to see you here, too. I've seen you on other blogs I visit.
DeleteLove the cat 'n dog one and also Bigfoot, LOL! And may I just say that the quotation in your header -- "when you're used to privilege, equality feels like oppression" -- is absolutely right on! That fallacy of thought is committed by many who feel threatened by advances in civil/human rights for others.
ReplyDeleteThat is one of the best quotes I have ever run across, Debra, and that's why I've kept it up there for so long. Whenever there is change or we 'evolve' or we finally grant rights to an oppressed group, there are always people who will react as though something is being taken away from them. Because they have to share their privileges with those that did not previously have any. But as Nellie McClung said: “Never explain, never retract, never apologize. Just get the thing done and let them howl.” Because when it comes to a civil rights issue, there is no compromise. Equality for all.
DeleteWhen I worked in produce departments, people would always shy away from the lone bananas. Ironically clumping them together to look full worked better than you'd imagine
ReplyDeleteYou are right, Adam. People seem to think there's something wrong with lone bananas. It's ridiculous, really!
DeleteI had a good weekend as Sat morning was a great bird outing. we saw 22 species.
ReplyDelete22 species? That is great! Such a fun way to spend a Saturday morning.
DeleteThat cat and dog caption is PERFECT.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the dose of cuteness, Martha. It's needed!
A little humour is always needed, Robyn! Glad you enjoyed.
DeleteLaughed at all of these, Martha. Needed to after weekend events. Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear that your weekend was difficult. I hope the week has been much better!
DeleteThanks for the laughs. Really enjoyed the Bizarro cartoon. I have a cousin who needs this one.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed. We can always use some humour!
DeleteGotta love cats and dogs, they can either look heartbreakingly sad, or go all Resident Evil on you.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA! Yes, you are right!
DeleteHahahaha, pick me, I'm single.
ReplyDeleteLove it.
Don't recall seeing or reading it.
Bananas need friends, too :)
