Happy Monday, everyone! How are you all doing? I hope the weekend was good to you. My best friend, Cathy, was here for a couple of days last week. She and I have known each other since we were four. We have been there for one another for the past 47 years and have walked side by side in this journey we call life. We have laughed and played and cried together. She is the kindest, most thoughtful and loving person I know, and I'm blessed and honoured to be her friend. For two days we chatted up a storm and walked for miles. It was wonderful having her here.
Here we are on one of our marathon walks on a very hot and humid day!

Do you have a friend who is really special?
While you think about that, here's some funny stuff...
Have a good one!
Glad you had a good visit.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun!
DeleteAWE that is so sweet that you and Cathy have been BFF's for 47 years. There is just no other friendship like that! I have 2 friends from grade school who I lost contact with but reconnected with about 7 years ago on FB. We just picked up where we left off. It's amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt really is amazing. With good friends, the time you've been apart seems like just a few days...even if it's many years!
DeleteI have a friend that I've known since grade one! Good to have a catch up. Thanks for the laughs this morning. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteThat's a long friendship like ours! It's such a wonderful thing.
DeleteThat is a great selfie with your friend. Friends are important as they tell us who we are. Love the cat expressions. That's one unhappy kitty.
ReplyDeleteCats are so expressive!
DeleteI only have one close friend that isn't from childhood. The rest I've known since grade school. I like the dog twitters cartoon.
ReplyDeleteOld friends like that are wonderful!
DeleteBiff didn't have the courage to tell him
ReplyDeleteI think so!
DeleteAwesome picture!! I am happy for you to have had the opportunity to connect with your friend. Sadly due to the "road trip that never ended" otherwise known as my childhood....many of the friends I made along the way were left behind. I do connect with some from time to time and it's like we pick up where we left off. Still, because I never lived anywhere more than a few years, it's not the same as your kind of longevity.
ReplyDeleteThat makes sense, Cheryl. From the day I was born, I lived in the same city for 44 years, so it was easy to make and maintain these long term friendships. I'm sure it would have been different if my family had moved around.
Deleteyou two could be sisters! I do have a bunch of good girlfriends, but they are more recent friends, I guess within the past 20 years. thanks for today's great laughs!
ReplyDeleteWe are like sisters! She never had a sister and neither did I, so we more than made up for it with our friendship!
DeleteI find it difficult to make friends.
ReplyDeleteIt can be difficult. And it seems to get harder as we get older.
DeleteIt's so much fun to spend time with a good friend! Love the funnies!
ReplyDeleteIt is fun!
DeleteWell, I like the dog who is looking forward to be tutored! You are fortunate to have such a great friend.
ReplyDeleteI am indeed very fortunate to have such a good friend. It's a very special relationship and I'm so grateful for it.
DeleteI do have friends that I have known since kindergarten. One of them, Shelly were best friends and used to say that we were going to work together when we grew up. We lost touch for several years but reunited again... at work!
ReplyDeleteHa! I love that story, Birdie. So cool :)
DeleteDog tutoring and tweets!! lol
ReplyDeleteI do have a special friend and when we meet/spent time together it is like she lives next door. We have been friends since 1968!
Since 1968! That is wonderful, Jim. Some friends are for life!
Delete"New friends are silver but old friends are gold!" And love that final Burger King LOL!
ReplyDeleteThat's it, Debra; old friends are gold.
DeleteI laughed out loud with that Burger King one!
You are soooo lucky to have such a dear friend...
ReplyDeleteI have several...see them once or twice a year...love catching up, and remembering when we were young and foolish!
Enjoy your week Martha!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
That's the most fun of all, Linda, reminiscing about our young and foolish days. And laughing like fools about it! Hope your week is going well, Linda. And that you're staying cool in this heat!
DeleteGreat photo of you and Cathy - glad you enjoyed your get-together.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
We did, Jan! Thank you :)
DeleteThat's truly special to have a friend for 40+ years. I'm fortunate to have a handful of dear girlfriends. I was going to say we don't go back nearly that long, but I realized I've had a bestie for over 30.
ReplyDeleteI love your funnies, especially the last one.
Keep smiling, (GOOD) Martha.
HAHAHA! Thanks for pointing out that I'm the GOOD Martha :) Hope your week is moving along wonderfully, Robyn!
DeleteI love that picture of you both :) and I love the poor little orange cat left out in the rain :)
ReplyDeleteMy cats would have the same expressions if that every happened to them! :)
DeleteCats are hypocrites themselves. i know this as I own quite a few :)
ReplyDeleteIf you caught them red handed, they'd run like hell. And then pretend nothing happened.
I couldn't agree more! I have a couple of hypocrites of my own :)
