Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, blogging pals. And happy Labour Day for those enjoying a long weekend. What are you up to these days? Yesterday evening we went downtown and enjoyed a nice supper out on the patio. The weather was spec-ta-cu-lar. There were many people out and about enjoying the last weekend before the school buses start their engines. Tomorrow the kids around here are heading back into the classroom. And my younger daughter will be starting her second year of university in Ottawa. I wish all the kids a great school year!

Now let's get to some funny stuff...

Have a wonderful day!

  2. Here in the States, we call it "Labor" Day.
Too much work putting in that 'U.'
    Or 'labor.'
    See what I did?
Yeah....sigh...I don't get much cleverer than that.

  3. Oh, the last one reminds me of a couple chickens I had years ago that looked pretty much just like that! I thought it would be neat to have some exotic-looking ones with feathers around their heads. But those poor birds couldn't see because the feathers would block their vision. My mom ended up giving them haircuts!

  7. LOL with the carpenter ants! Always so anticlimactic to begin the start of a school year the day after Labor Day weekend. I hope your daughter has a great year ahead!

  8. We had a hurricane the first part of Labor Day weekend here in NC but it blew thru fairly quickly. Minimal clean up which was nice. Now my son returns to school today and we get back to the normal routine.

  10. My dog would often go all over the place in the car looking out the windows.

  11. Ants wouldn't be so pesty if they broke out in carpenter songs. Smiles.
Hope your week is a good one, Martha. Thanks for the cuteness and giggles that you always deliver.

  16. You always pick the best stuff. I love, LOVE that cat one. Cat's expressions are priceless.
And the Carpenter ants one...so funny.

Glad you had a nice weekend. The heat hasn't broken here yet so no sitting on the patio. (Well unless a person is into sweating profusely). School has been in session since the second week of August here. I remember when our kids didn't go back to school until after Labor Day as well.

    1. Second week in August! I imagine the kids aren't too happy about that. Unless summer vacation starts really early?

Here they start after Labour day but in my hometown it was the last week of August.

Cats...they are so (unintentionally) hilarious with their expressions!

  17. Poor Bubba without his bed. Penelope is getting better at riding in the car. Today she hopped right in so we could go to the bank. Second year of university for your daughter. Good for her! Has she chosen a major?

    1. She's in communications. Her first year was spent in digital journalism but she decided to switch. This program broadens her options.
