Have you been to the stores lately? It's Christmas everywhere. I've never minded that as long as it didn't start too early. This year I saw signs of it in early October, and in one dollar store, they were preparing shelves for merchandise placement at the end of September. Whaaaaat...? Yeah. Crazy.
Thank goodness the holiday tunes aren't played that soon. As much as I enjoy listening to them, I do have my breaking point. And which song would drive me nuts if I had to listen to it over and over again for weeks on end? Definitely 'The Twelve Days of Christmas'. How about you?
You know, we hear a lot about Rudolph and his bright nose and stuff, but what about Santa's other reindeer? We don't know much about them. Well, leave it to Mad Magazine (I was a huge fan back in the 70s) to supply some information on the rest of the team. Here's a little bit about one of them:
Who knew? (shrug)
And those are nice antlers, aren't they?
Speaking of Rudolph... It seems his employment history includes some...um...transgressions.
Well, at least he cleaned up his act.
And that's a wrap, folks! Wishing you all a terrific weekend.
you are too funny. My favorite radio station on Sirius turns to Christmas music on 11/1. Drives me crazy. Right now, I'm listening to my playlist that's a mix of my regular playlist, and Christmas music. So I only get it 50% of the time. The week before Xmas, I'll switch it to the 100% Xmas playlist.
ReplyDelete50% is not that bad. I could live with that. But all day Christmas music would drive me batty!
DeleteI love Christmas music because I know all the words! Well, most of the time :)
ReplyDeleteIt's fun to sing along!
DeleteOh gawd yeah, I can barely stand listening to "The 12 Days of Christmas" ONCE. The reindeer LOLs were great!
ReplyDeleteI know, right? It is definitely one that I'm not a fan of.
Deletelove the cartoons - happy 2nd of december
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked them!
DeleteI love "the fairytale of New York" song.
ReplyDeleteI don't know that one. I'll have to look it up.
DeleteLOL! I remember Mad Magazine. :-) Larry has been listening to Christmas music for a while on Sirius radio--they started some time in November. I waiting until just around Thanksgiving to pull out my CDs to listen to when I'm driving.
ReplyDeleteThat must make for a fun and festive drive!
DeleteYeah, there are two top dogs that I like and I'll email you about them over the weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your help! You are a cool chick.
DeleteSure thing and right back atcha!
Delete:)
DeleteLOL with Rudolph running with the wrong crowd for a bit and also the new slow cooker with the turtle :) I wish with stores that they would kind of give a little respect to the American Thanksgiving holiday. They get rid of Halloween and next day it is all Christmas stuff with maybe 2 shelves of things for Thanksgiving. We down here call it sometimes the forgotten holiday.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
betty
I agree, Betty. Waiting till after Thanksgiving would be the right thing to do. It seems to be all about profit.
DeleteSo that's the real reindeer game. I don't go in many stores. I haven't heard a single carol yet this year. If I had to listen to Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer, it would put me over the edge.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
HAHAHA! That is definitely one that can drive someone mad.
DeleteGreat post!!! I love Christmas🎄...but not so much the song 12 Days of Christmas. It was never one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteLove your header...and your "slow cooker" 😂
Have a great weekend ☃❄
Thank you, Jan! I hope your weekend is great.
DeleteSo pleased you are making good use of your slow cooker.
ReplyDeleteI love listening to the Christmas songs (and dance) the grandchildren are learning!
All the best Jan
That must be such a treat, Jan. Children add so much joy to everything.
DeleteI never cared for the Little Drummer Boy. As far as I know there was no one playing the drums at the nativity. The "rump a pump pump" drives me crazy!
ReplyDeleteI'll want to use the slow cooker for the first time soon, maybe this weekend.
I hope you like it. I'm loving my slow cooker so far.
DeleteI remember a cartoon...it shows Rudolph at a bar and his eyes are rolling around and he is about to fall off his bar stool... the caption has Santa saying, "Well, Rudolph is LIT, time to go!"
ReplyDeleteHA!
Oh no...drinking and driving! Shame on Santa :)
DeleteNice seasonal cartoons! Hope you find a great food processor!
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked them, Christine!
DeleteI find it funny that every artist out there has a Christmas album. I actually like the "big choir" carols and the more traditional ones. But one of my favourites is Silver Bells. I bought a food processor when it was on sale at Canadian Tire - nothing fancy, but it works well and is pretty easy to clean. (Black and Decker)My one recommendation is to buy a full sized one, not a mini- food processor. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteI am definitely going to check at Canadian Tire. When they put on sales, they are super sales! I'll check after the holidays.
DeleteHa, ha love the turtle!
ReplyDeleteIt's cute!
DeleteStores play it non-stop, I kind of tune it out
ReplyDeleteAfter awhile you just ignore it.
DeleteThank you so much for the needed laughs. Love the Vixen page.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteI'm deciding what to put on the slow cooker tomorrow, last week was chicken, think it might be a beef stew this week. We looked at food processors, couldn't decide whether we would use it enough, so gave up looking. Though did just see a small version of one in Sears so might check nore into that. Enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda! Whatever you make, I hope it's yummy!
DeleteLove the slow cooker, don't do Christmas so the music and stuff in stores is a little much...
ReplyDeleteI've wanted to get a slow cooker for along time. Not sure why I took so long but I am enjoying it!
DeleteAs I read this I am eating a low carb stew made in my slow cooker.
ReplyDeleteI hope it was yummy! :)
Deleteslow cooker is great.
