Chuckles and Chortles

And here we are once again starting a new week. I hope it's going to be a good one for all of you. What are you up to these days? You know that packing up the house and getting ready to move to another one in another city is pretty much what's been taking up our time. But that's alright. The most amazing man in the world and I are looking forward to a new chapter in our lives.

Did any of you watch the Super Bowl? I have to say that I'm far from being a sports fan. If I'm going to watch anything competitive, which is very rare, it'll be along the lines of gymnastics or figure skating or dancing. Or some such thing. I used to play sports regularly when I was a kid but not on any real team; just with neighbourhood friends. I had a great time but it was never really my favourite thing.

Anyhow, that's enough rambling. Here's some funny stuff for you.

Have a good one!

  1. LOL about the tongue and the trust issues with younger siblings :) Too funny!

I had to laugh too with the cartoon about moving the toilet. Years ago at another house we lived in, it had a pool. We were moving to a different state. A friend of my son, who was about 7 at the time, asked when we said we were moving "are you packing up the pool too?" Had to laugh at that :)

Did watch the Super Bowl; surprised by the outcome!

    1. HAHAHA! That is really funny about the pool. Kids say the cutest things.

    2. I suppose a pool isn't really portable - but it's not always obvious in intuitive what will be taken and what will be left, I had to explain it to my son when we moved. I've noticed in a lot of house-hunting shows that all major appliances are left (or provided to renters), in Australia you leave the dishwasher but take your own fridge, clothes washer and dryer with you. I don't know why the dishwasher is different!

    3. That's just the shows. In reality people negotiate appliances. And most people keep theirs and move them, especially if they're good quality. Most of the appliances left behind are poor quality or very old, which is a great way for the old owners to get rid of them. If a seller throws in high quality appliances, you better believe it's factored into the price of the home!

  2. Ha ha thanks for the laughs.

Nope, no Super Bowl here in the UK, and if there was I wouldn't watch it, I'm not a big sports fan, but my partner is.

    1. I heard about it, Christine. Even though I don't watch sports, I somehow stumble across news about it.

  4. Your cartoons are especially funny today. I turned on the Stupor Bowl in time to see the only part that interested me--Lady Gaga's performance. I love her.

    Love,
    Janie

  9. Those are fun and the older sibling part is true :) I see others have the same problem.

    1. They seem to. I was fortunate that I didn't have that problem with my two older brothers. I guess I got lucky!

  11. Nope, no Superbowl for me but the son watched it in another room. Football always seems like too much stopping and starting. I like to watch basketball sometimes, but I am a very poor Canadian, can't stand watching hockey (or curling). -Jenn

    1. I'm just as bad a Canadian with the hockey, Jenn! Even more so with the curling.

    1. The tongue is getting reprimanded because s/he is going around and licking the stamp, the Oreo, the envelope and the ice cream. Inappropriate behaviour! :)

  13. The super villain one is just so sadly true :) All funny; thanks, Martha! Hope the packing keeps going smoothly.

  17. Imagine if the old homeowners took the toilets with them. Legally I guess they have the right, but wouldn't that be a WTF?

    1. It would be a HUGE WTF? I can't imagine that, although I'm sure it does happen that you get a house without a toilet.

  20. so funny! enjoyed them all. We did go over to the local pizza place to watch the game which I'm not really a football fan but I did it to be a buddy to my husband since all our sons moved away. I actually enjoyed it - especially the beer and garlic pizza bread. The more beer - the better the game was. And actually it was so good it could have stood alone without the beer.
