Chuckles and Chortles

Happy new week, blogging pals. I am broadcasting live from our new home! Okay, I'm being silly. I'm writing up this post in our new city.

We made it. And we're all still standing. Some of us are a little lopsided but not one has toppled over yet. The cats are very happy now but the move was extremely difficult and stressful for them, especially for our black cat, Nacho. I'll write a little about that sometime this week. I'm not sure when and I imagine my blogging will be somewhat sporadic for a little while, but I'll post when I can. Popping into your blogs will probably happen more regularly as I like to start my morning with a coffee and a few blog visits.

Today we close on the sale of our house and we'll be driving to Kingston to allow the new owners a final walk through before the home becomes officially theirs. It will be our last drive there for a long time to come. We'll be spending more time in Montreal and Ottawa from now on where the girls, family and friends reside.

Well, that's it for now. A busy day awaits and I have to get started. Here is some funny stuff for you.

Have a good one!

  1. Yeah, I'm always in the Worthless Riffraff line at the airport too! Moving can be very hard on cats. They despise change.

    1. My two cats have never had this huge amount of change. It was quite traumatic for them.

Take all the time you need, Martha. Getting settled in a new home takes time.

  7. I LOVE the ghost rides! Actually, I love 'em all, but especially that one :)

I'm completely impressed that you've managed to keep posting so far. Don't worry about sporadic. Just take your time and get settled and rested.

    1. I won't be doing much posting in the next couple of weeks or so but I enjoy the blogging world and don't want to disappear completely. Sometime this week I'll also get back to posting regularly on my other blog. That one doesn't take much effort.

  8. P. S. I left a reply to your reply on my last post's comment (!) but thought I should repeat it here in case you don't see it. Your kitties may want to get out and they can be so fast. Keep an eye on those portals to the outside world :) I'm sorry they had such a rough time. They will enjoy the peace and quiet now!

    1. All the moving and appliance delivery is over and done with, so it will be very quiet for them now. Aside from us moving around the house unpacking, cleaning and painting. But that doesn't bother them. But I'm being very careful with the doors, especially with our black cat. She dealt with a lot more stress and fear because of this move. She could very well bolt at some point just from being afraid.

  10. Moves are nuts. I haven't moved since 1970 and I still remember how hard it was and I have 10 times more stuff today.

    1. I think it's great that you've been in the same home for so long. Why move when you have no reason to? It's such a hassle.

  11. I can't tell if they are suppose to be ghosts or Trump supporters

  12. Those are great, I love the ATM :) My Phoebe thinks her scratcher is for dancing too- she even has a cup for tips. She has made a lot of money from guests that way.

    1. Thanks, Wonder Woman! I'll send you a personal email as soon as I can. We are very busy these days but at least there's no more back and forth between two cities. That's HUGE progress :)

    2. Yes, that's HUGE progress. Very cool.

PS: I started to rip apart the Lemon Tart Room. Muwhahahahaha.

  14. Congrats on finishing the house selling and move. Cats find moving extraordinarily difficult. Mine ran away back to our home when I had to move and a neighbor returned him. He doesn't pole dance on his scratching post but I think he would if he could work out how. Best of luck with everything in your new city.

    1. It was so heartbreaking watching our two cats this confused and upset. Our black cat, Nacho, was the one that had it worse. The other one, Mocha, handled things a little better. There was no way around this. We tried to make them as comfortable as possible but it was still so hard. They are much better now.

  15. I just love that you are 'broadcasting live from your new home!'
So pleased to hear the move went well.

Great collection of funnies, my favourite is the ATM.

Good wishes as you continue to settle in

    All the best Jan

    1. Thanks, Jan! I'm so glad that the move is over. It was a tough one! We have work to do around the house, but at least we are in our new home in our new city.

  16. I've been catching up - i read about your poor kitties trauma from the move and glad they are doing somewhat better. It's so hard on them - our cat hates to get in the car let alone for more than 2 hours. Love the funny cartoons you put up. I imagine you've been really busy getting settled in. I haven't been blogging much, no inspiration for the most part to get on the internet and get bombarded with bad political news so I've kept myself busy in other ways. Hope you share pics of your environment (inside or outside)... or neighborhood... anyway glad the move is behind you now.

    1. It's been quite refreshing to unplug and not have to be constantly bombarded with the news, which is mostly negative. I imagine we'll be exploring our area a little more come spring. We've got a lot of work to do on our home but we also need to disengage from that now and then and enjoy life!

  17. I've been off the computer all week and am happy to hear that the move is behind you at this point. Moving is HARD!!! Hope you have time now just to relax a bit and see the local sites.
