Chuckles and Chortles

Happy new week, my friends. And happy spring. ? You wouldn't think so looking outside my window. It looks more like the month of January. Nevertheless, my favourite time of the year is here. What's your favourite season?

You know what I'm doing today? Painting. I'm finally painting. Only our bedroom closet, but still, it's a step forward. We picked up a few gallons of paint on the weekend and we will slowly put them all to use. I'd love for us to jump right in and paint the entire house but it's just not possible. We have to wash and prepare surfaces properly first. And that takes time. So we are moving forward. In baby steps.

Before I get to the funny stuff, I want to thank Jenny for recommending the product TSP (commonly used for cleaning, degreasing and deglossing walls prior to painting). We picked that up on the weekend, as well, and it works like a charm. Go visit her blog here and make a new blogging pal.

Now let's get to the funny stuff...

Have a great day!

  2. It's Spring already. My favorite is the chicken eating the jelly beans.

  3. We're definitely having a "skeptical" spring this year... Just when we think spring is on the way we seem to get another bit of snow or ice. Still, I'm hopeful that we've finally made the break! I think my favorite season is fall... I tend to get over the heat rather quickly and the transition back to cooler temperatures along with the beautiful colors makes me happy.

  4. I'm glad the TSP is working for you, and thanks for the shout out, Martha! I hope today's poem doesn't scare anyone away.

I LOVE the owl - we had a blast of winter overnight, too. It's been a strange winter. Maybe it's going to be a strange spring, too :)

Thanks for the fun pictures, as always! And good luck with the painting.

    1. So many beautiful colours and so many awakenings in the spring. All these reasons and more are what make this season my favourite!

  6. Have fun painting! Did you go to the chiropractor for your back?

    1. No visit to the chiropractor. I used to go to one for years when I was living in Montreal but then we moved to Kingston and I never searched for another one. The visits used to do me a world of good. Perhaps I should look into going again.

  7. TSP! Best stuff in the world. Lots of prep goes into changing the color of a room (or closet) but it is so worth it. Good luck.

Should you be painting with a hurt back? If you do, you certainly need a good massage afterwards.

    1. All these years and I'd never known about TSP. I'm so glad we picked it up. It's really getting the job done. I can't say I'm a fan of prep work but it's a necessary evil. It's the difference between a job well done and a half ass job :)

My back has healed since I injured it. Taking a week off to rest really helped.

  8. I don't think i would mind a wooly mammoth chiropractor. My back gets so sore. It might put it back into place!

    1. Back pain is not fun. It makes it hard to get through the day when your back is sore.

  9. Baby steps add up to big accomplishments along the way! LOL with the border collie and farmer as well as the barrel of monkeys. I too like spring; new beginnings!

    1. Yes, new beginnings! For us in the colder areas, all the awakenings of spring are quite welcome.

  10. Oh the last one is funny. Yes I use TSP. Once you start washing the walls you're on a roll and things should start to speed up.

  12. I'm good fat, especially the roll around my belly. I'm following Jenny now. I tried to paint once. My son had to clean it up and re-do it. I'm a painting failure.

  19. Sorry (again) that I am so slow to comment. Yikes, you are the one that has major life changes going on yet keep up with blogging. I should get my act together.

As for seasons...definitely my favorite is Spring. Sadly it just doesn't last very long here. We go from snow to HOT fairly quickly in Kansas.

Love the avocado joke. I wish I could use that line and get away with it.
