Not afraid but I stay out of lightening whenever possible and I like watching from inside.
That makes sense! And it's much cozier that way.
Love them! My mom's mom was deathly afraid of them. When I was growing up sometimes we would have to stop what we were doing to go to her house when a storm was coming because she didn't like being alone. I determined then not to let that get in my way so I taught ny kids to love them. We would watch from windows the lightning and love hearing the booming thunder.Betty
Some people are very afraid of them. That's great that you taught your kids to love them.
I like to sit on the front porch and watch them. Am a little nervous to be out in them though
They can be dangerous. Best to view them from a safe place.
Thunderstorms are one of my favorite things in the world. We sometimes sit on the porch to watch them over the mountains or jump in the car to try to photograph lightening.I especially love the long rolling thunder that can keep up for several minutes. Yum!
There is something so exciting and energizing about them!
Driving in it? yesin the house, not so much. Unless I'm half-awake and my mind is really out there at the moment
Driving in that type of weather is the worst! You can't see a thing. Very scary.
I used to have no fear but after years of reading of their effects after every storm I have a healthy respect for them now! For instance, when the lightning is quite close I do not touch the taps or metal sink, or talk on the phone, or stand too close to windows. Those are all situations I've read about in which people were struck. I like my nervous system the way it is, thank you :) Maybe we have more potent lightning here or something - haha
A healthy respect is not a bad thing, Jenny. It can be quite dangerous and being a little cautious is smart.
I am afraid!
Many people are, Christine. And that's okay.
I'm not afraid, but sometimes an extreme clap of thunder startles me. Storms frighten Penelope. She trembles, poor little girl.Love,Janie
Oh, poor thing. Who can blame her? They can be quite frightening.
One of my favorite tunes is Eddie Rabbit's"I love a rainy night!" Yes I like rain.
That is a great song! I really like it.
If I was afraid of storms I would be living in the worst place possible! So, no. I'm not. 😁
So true! :)
I am not afraid of lightning, but the thunder scares me, I know I am strange :)
You are not strange at all! It can be quite frightening.
Not afraid of thunderstorms, in fact they feel kind of "cozy" to me. My father would sit out on the porch and watch the lightning. Because we never treated thunder storms as something scary, our kids never developed a fear of them. We would have some pretty strong ones and would ask the kids the next morning if they heard some of the thunder, and they wouldn't even be aware that there was a storm - they'd sleep right through them! -Jenn
If they could sleep right through them that definitely demonstrates that there was no fear of them!
I have always loved a good thunder/lightning storm. I like when nature takes over to let her presence be known.
I know exactly what you mean, Jim! Mother Nature certainly lets her presence be known sometimes.
Not thunder but terrified of dams. You know, like Hoover or Three Gorges.
They can be quite terrifying!
LOVE thunderstorms with a torrent of rain, whistling wind, thunder and lightning...yes!!! I run for my favorite book of haunting's and ghost stories, light the fireplace get my favorite throw and snuggle up to read...of course all the while hoping that the power doesn't go out :)
I LOVE the way you describe it, Jan. And yes, as long as the power doesn't go out, it's all good :)
I'm not afraid, but I don't like bad storms that could knock out the power. And the kitties don't particularly like them.
When the power is affected, that is not fun!
I am rarely afraid of any type of storm unless it's bad enough to do damage to my house. A few years ago a hail storm hit dropping baseball size hail onto my house. It all but took the roof off. Scared the crud out of me.
I'm totally with you on that, Cheryl! When there are very bad storms, I also worry about our home. Some severe damage can occur during those times.
I'm not too bad with storms, always prefer to be indoors though! All the best Jan
Indoors is always better :)
I enjoy them from indoors, but I our bigger dog Wiggy has a horrible time with it so now I don't enjoy them because she gets so scared.
Aw, poor pup. It can be quite frightening for many pets.
