Chuckles and Chortles

And here we are in a brand new week. Again. The days are just - WOOSH - going right by. How are you all doing? What have you been up to? How was your weekend? Looks like our weather is starting to get better. Yesterday was just beautiful. Late morning we went to the hardware store to pick up more paint and rollers and tape and all that fun stuff, brought it all back home and then walked over to a restaurant that is literally about 3 minutes from our house. It serves breakfast and lunch daily, and is open from 7 AM to 3 PM seven days a week. The food was great, the service was friendly and the prices were unbelievable. How unbelievable? Well, it only cost about $16.00 with a tip for the both of us. What??? Where do you find prices like that these days?

It's going to be a busy day, so I'll get right to the funny stuff. Enjoy!

A great day to all of you!

  2. Too funny with Adam and Eve! Sounded like a wonderful weekend, Martha, and a great find with that restaurant! Definitely a bargain indeed! Had a busy weekend here as usual; but the weather was "picture perfect" at about 80 degrees and sunny :) Now off to the work week ahead!

  5. I love those breakfast/lunch kind of places. Seems like they have a nice mix of healthy food that also feels like comfort food.

Glad to hear that your weather is coming around to Spring-like. Hopefully, the house chores will be done soon so you can get out and enjoy the nice weather when it makes it's arrival.

    1. Unfortunately, it looks like it's going to be some time before we're done with this house. There is a lot of cleaning and painting that will keep us busy for weeks. Then we've got carpet removal in the lower level. And on it goes...

  8. Love the chuckles today - my favorite one - has to be the knots in the pocket...the ear buds knotting up every damn time I go to pick them up ..always happens - I can place them on my nightstand perfectly and yet.........all knotted up when i pick them up. Sounds like you've been busy.

Saw grandkids yesterday, sketched today instead of getting out for a nice long walk in the heavy breezes - hoping tomorrow it's a more calm day and warm and then a long walk or hike around the lake and beyond.

other than that - tonight is beef stroganoff, a favorite of mine and I'm not cooking.

    1. I do, Christine! I enjoy painting because it makes everything so clean and beautiful. But I don't like the preparation and cleanup.

  10. I wish we had a place that inexpensive for breakfast and lunch in town. I like the book doing the splits, I will always prefer those kind to the Kindle although I read both kinds. Have a great week!

    1. I do see the appeal for the Kindle but I'm still a paper book loving reader. Easier to cozy up with!

    1. Not yet! I think it'll be a while before we're there. There is still so much to do. If we worked all day every day, we'd be further ahead. But we take days off and relax. There's no point burning ourselves out. The house will be done when it's done.

    2. 100 percent agree with you. So much nicer to take days off and have other fun too.

    3. For sure. We don't want the house projects to dominate our lives. There are plenty of them to tackle and it's a sure road to burn out if that's all we do!

    1. It's kind of nice having such an affordable place near us. It'll be our go to restaurant when we want to take a walk over for breakfast or lunch. Everything is so expensive these days that it's nice knowing there is a place like this!
