Chuckles and Chortles

Is it Monday again? It sure is. This day just keeps on coming around again and again. How was your weekend? Ours was totally slack. Since Thursday we haven't done anything major around the house. We were champion slackers and we're not sorry. Not one bit. But today will be different. Today will be a day of hard work.

Yesterday was a glorious day. People were out and about. We were, too. And our street was filled with children playing outside. It's always nice having kids in the neighbourhood; they really liven up the place. And it's also nice to see so many of them spending the entire day outdoors instead of indoors glued to electronic devices. Nothing like fresh air and lots of exercise. Reminds me of my childhood.

Now let's get to the funny stuff!

Have a terrific day, everyone!

  1. I am happy to hear that you and hubby had some "we time."
My hubby and i were outside all day yesterday with our granddaughter and our great-granddaughter who is only 18 months old and more precious than anything money can buy!!!
We were blowing bubbles and my hubby would pretend like they were chasing him. Our great-granddaughter was laughing so hard that she had all of us just about rolling in the grass!!! It was a fantastic Sunday!!!
Love the funny stuff...not so much the last one but that's just me~

    Hugs!!!

    2. We thrive with those extended breaks. If we didn't take them, we would burn out!

  16. So glad they were outside, the kids. No lie, I just spent two hours in the woods. Inside now, checked for ticks, soon to shower. What a great week it's been. We haven't had a spring like this is a long time. Proper spring.

    1. Being outdoors is the best. Plus, our winters are pretty long and when spring rolls in you are eager to get out. Sounds like a really great time on your part.

    2. Agreed. And the last few springs it's been so much snow, this year though, overall, it feels like a proper spring. Tomorrow, I'm going to see if we have voliets. I learned this week that they're edible as well. So far, I've enjoyed the wild edibles and each day I get to learn about more. It's so flippin' fun.

    3. I didn't know that about the violets! That is cool. I knew about the dandelions because I grew up with a lot of people who ate dandelion greens. It's a very popular Greek food.

    4. I knew about the leaves and the roots but somehow, I didn't know about the actual flower bits.

Didn't care for the leaves of the violets, too much perfume taste for me. Did enjoy the blossoms, though. I'd eat those again. Made tea and put it in the fridge. Will try it later. Made dandelion blossom tea too. Both resting in the fridge overnight.

    5. Let me know how that turns out. I'm really curious!

    6. For sure I will. I am making tea from everything this year. Going to have it last through the winter. I'm tired of paying for store-bought herbal organic teas. No more she says, no more!
