Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, everyone. How goes you? What are you up to these days? I've been up since 5:30 because tabby cat decided I'd had enough sleep by then. And with her belly full, guess where she's been since 6 AM? If you guessed in her cat tree dozing away, you win a year's supply of pats on the back and "way to go" and "you rock" compliments. Both my cats nag me to death bother me drive me crazy come to me for all their needs. Because they know who the sucker reliable one is.

Is anyone in need of rain? We had a very wet spring and summer seems to be headed in the same direction. Who can I send some to? We really don't need this much and I'd be happy to share.

We've been watching old episodes of Holmes on Holmes on YouTube. It's a Canadian television series featuring Mike Holmes, a general contractor who rescues Toronto, Ontario homeowners from renovations gone terribly wrong. He goes in and not only cleans up the mess that shitty contractors left behind but fixes stuff you didn't even know needed fixing. Getting this man and his crew to show up at your place is better than winning the lottery. I dream of him knocking on our door and taking over everything that needs doing here. We don't necessarily fit the profile since no contractor has screwed us over and we don't live in the Toronto area, but a girl can dream, no? "Mike, pleeeeaaasssseeee come and fix our house!"

Okay, enough of that. Here's some funny stuff for you.

Have a good one!

  2. Eek! Starting a Monday morning at 5.30am !!!

I was fortunate, mine started a lot later with a leisurely breakfast, which was very nice indeed.
Then it was some washing and a trip to the shops.
Quite an ordinary day, which I don't mind at all. Sometimes an ordinary sort of day is just what we need!

It's getting on for 5.30pm as I type this so shortly be time to get some dinner ready.
Hope your new week will be a good one for you.

Oops nearly forgot to say - I did enjoy the Chuckles and Chortles

    All the best Jan

  3. I love the pyramid scheme! heh heh heh ... laughing still

And I've seen the Holmes show on TV - it's frightening how some contractors operate. And as feisty as he appears on that show, I think he's a huge softy; have you seen the ads he does for one of the aid organizations? Awww ...

    1. I totally agree! He is one big softie. I've seen him in interviews and he's just a great guy. He's helped so many people. He puts his heart in all his jobs and he's trained his crew to be the same way; his kids, too. I don't know about the ads. I'm going to look them up!

  4. hahaha, the goddess - ....too funny - all of the cartoons. Hot, busy with grandkids, continuing to be hot and after a short cool down for a few days starting tomorrow - looking forward to three hot months ugh... we could use some rain. I use to love House Hunters and various other HGTV shows when we owned a house - now that we are renting I guess I lost interest because I can't do anything to change up this old house.

Another fun-filled batch to start the week, Martha. Thank you.

  13. Look up, nod and pretend to be listening...oh no, now you have done it...when I am at a wedding now and they start to do the vows, I will start giggling and it will be YOUR FAULT! xx

  15. I thought I was the only one that got up that early, but apparently not. I don't watch tv much over here. There's nothing worth watching. If there was something interesting on I might be persuaded to. I'll keep a look-out for that programme on my iPad. It might turn up at 5.30! Ha. I like the pyramid cartoon. That made me smile. All your cartoons do 🤤 Where do you get them from? Has the weekend really gone? Everyday is pretty much luck like the one before and it's easy to forget just what day it is. Another week goes by then 😱. It'll be Christmas at this rate!

    1. I follow a couple of humour pages on Facebook and I sometimes search on Google for funny images. When I find something I like, I down load it and store it in a folder on my computer to use at a later time. It sounds like a lot of work but it isn't. There are so many funny things on the internet!

  16. Those were some good ones this week, Martha! The Trojan pizza guy reminds me of a scene from Monty Python's Holy Grail (familiar?). I like the pyramid scheme one, too. Rain - holy cow, enough already! -Jenn

  18. Hi Martha :) I'm the "sucker"/reliable one too lol...our cats are good though, they stay quiet until I get up, but the dogs pace outside the bedroom door and usually a shaken collar wakes me! I actually got to "sleep in" until 7:30 today! Such a luxury! :))

We watched a lot of Holmes on Homes last summer on rainy days. I'm like you, I dream of handsome Mike in his overalls knocking on my door and fixing all of my problems while shaking his head in disbelief lol...He has another show that we started about him helping people make decisions on the home buying process. I didn't like it as much as "on Homes" though. Don't you find you learn a lot from him? I do!

    Nice funnies! :)

    1. HAHAHA! 7:30..look at you! That is definitely a luxury sleeping in that late.

Yes, I find you learn a lot from watching his shows. We recently picked up a whole house surge protector that attaches to the panel box to protect all our electronics. We never even knew such a thing existed! He is the best.

  20. Hey Martha,

Ah yes, those home renovation shows. I almost featured on a show over here named, "House Doctor". However, the show consider my home, "Too ambitious a project.." Imagine my real doctor saying that to me. How desperate are you to move to Toronto? states a dude who lived in Vancouver! LOL

Cool set of funny stuff. Now, where's my cannon....

    Take care, eh.

    Gary :)

    1. "Too ambitious a project!" LOL... It's not funny but it is funny. Does that make sense?

I would never move to Toronto! I'm done with big cities. And anyway, we could not afford to live there! The house prices are crazy.
