Happy Monday, blogging pals. How are you? And how was your weekend? Ours was a very social one. How social, you ask? Well, on Friday we met for dinner in Vaudreuil (40 minutes away) with the most amazing man in the world's buddy and his girlfriend. Lots of fun. And late Saturday morning my best friend called and asked if we'd like to go out for dinner that night, so we drove back to Vaudreuil that evening and met with her, her husband and her son, and that was a lot of fun. And earlier that day, about an hour or two after I'd made plans with my girlfriend, my older daughter sent me a text asking if we'd like to meet her and her boyfriend for brunch the next day. So yesterday we drove back to Vaudreuil for the third day in a row. That, too, was lots of fun. Three days of being with people. A lot of interaction for us introverts.
And guess what's going on today? The most amazing man in the world will be staying home but I am heading east again. No, I will not be going to Vaudreuil again but I will be driving through it as I head into Montreal. My mom has to go to the hospital for a blood test and I'll be going with her. She needs someone to accompany her and since my brother is on vacation with his wife, I'll be stepping in. After we're done, I'll hang out with her at her home and maybe run some errands she might need doing. More socializing for me. After this, I'm going to hibernate for a bit to recharge my batteries. There's only so much 'people-ing' I can do in such a short period of time.
I'll be heading out the door soon but before I go, I'll leave you with some funny stuff. Enjoy and have a beautiful day! I'll catch up on your blogs later today.
Love your funnies! I'm starting the week with a head cold. These cheered me up!
ReplyDeleteHead colds are exhausting. I hope you are feeling much better!
DeleteSounds like a happy weekend with lovely people. The alone time is calling and you are smart enough to recognize and listen. Well done.
ReplyDeleteFabulous to star my early morning with some giggles. You have a great Monday with mom.
I always know when it's time to get away from it all...and everyone! :)
DeleteThe "farmer in the dell" cracked me up!
ReplyDeleteIt's a good one!
DeleteI bet they're glad some are called in or sent digitally now.
ReplyDeleteNo doubt about that!
DeleteFine collection of cartoons for our Monday laughs. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteI don't have the social life tat you do. The wife has gone to her brother's for four days - that's as axciting as it gets. The life here has been the same as usual. Nothing much to report here. It's the same old story:-(
ReplyDeleteThis is a unique period. My social life is typically a lot quieter than this. It just happened that everyone wanted to see us around the same time. Now I'm enjoying some quiet!
DeleteThat is truly a lot of interaction for an introvert! As long as you can see a space for you at the end of the four days, that probably helps a bit.
ReplyDeleteLoved the funnies - especially the speech therapy meeting. It made me realize for the first time how many of our familiar childhood cartoon characters had problems! lol Loved the new baby smell, too. It's about right :)
It is definitely a lot of interaction for an introvert. But we survived! LOL Now we're enjoying a little quiet time. I prefer a little space between get-togethers but it just happened that everyone chose the same weekend.
DeleteThanks for the laughs Martha, fun socializing! Enjoy the time with your mom, mine used to enjoy our time together even if it was just a blood test or a doctor appointment. We would always grab lunch after.
ReplyDeleteMoms just enjoy time together. Now that I'm closer, I can see her more often.
DeleteI'm guessing a Meet and Tweet group would actually be popular - a sign of the times.
ReplyDeleteThese were all great, and the speech therapy one made me giggle too.
Have a nice week, Martha.
I hope your week is a good one so far, Robyn!
DeleteI'll never be able to sing Farmer in the Dell again without seeing this picture in my head. I wonder if that's why they wife runs away!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA! Could be, Toni :)
DeleteThe cartoons seem especially funny to me this week. I really like antisocial networking and the speech therapy. Travel safely, fellow introvert. I hope all is well with your mom.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Glad you enjoyed them, Janie! We could all use a good laugh.
DeleteYou always come up with the best cartoons! Loved the Twister one for physical therapy :) Sounded like a delightful weekend for you all!!!
ReplyDeletebetty
It was nice, Betty. A little exhausting but well worth it!
DeleteAs usual I have one funny that's better than ll others..the farmer in the dell.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good one!
DeleteThe farmer in the Dell had me laughing out loud.
ReplyDeleteI showed it to Lynette and she was LOL too.
I'm e-mailing it to my daughter and brother.
Thanks so much!
You're welcome!
Deleteoh dear reading your first para made me realize how tiring it must be for introvert like you . Last week i avoided an event and sent my apology ,i will go later when party will over and only host will be there to chat because my little brain can't stand much interactions and i feel as i have fever when get back to home.
ReplyDeleteHope your dear mom will be fine and your company will cherish her for while .
thank you for smiles my friend.
Take care
It was a lot of socializing for me but it was a lot of fun, too. Now I'm taking it easy. I've had my fill!
DeleteThat is a lot of visiting for an introvert. I'm glad you had fun though. And I hope your mom is okay.
ReplyDeletePeople overload! But we survived :)
DeletePeopling ~~ aaaahhhh!!!!
ReplyDeleteI know!
DeleteSTC ~ love it!
Delete(as he spits it out uncontrollably)
HAHAHA!
DeleteSpeech therapy clinic!!! All my favs had a speech impediment!!??
ReplyDeleteYes, you must be exhausted!....all that socializing! Wouldn't ya know it....if it doesn't rain, it pours!!
That's the way it goes sometimes, Jim! LOL But we survived :)
DeleteHi Martha :)) All I could think of was ALL THAT DRIVING...lol...I've become wary of driving lately, but it's good you introverts enjoyed society! :) Love the funnies. Gosh I hibernate for days after going grocery shopping - that's more than enough humanity for me lol.
ReplyDeleteIt was a lot of driving. I don't mind highway driving, especially on the 401; it's a nice, smooth drive (unless there is construction!). But I really don't like city driving during rush hour. That drives me batty. And expressways and highways in the city? No thanks! It's like being in a video game trying to survive. I am so glad we left the big city years ago. Living in a smaller area has been wonderful.
DeleteWell all those trips to Vaudreuil it did sound a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteGreat selection of Chuckles for us again, loved the Farmers in his dell!
Hope your moms blood test goes well.
All the best Jan
It was exhausting but lots of fun!
DeleteThanks for the laughs...
ReplyDeleteI needed them...
Cheers!
Linda :o)
You're welcome! I hope all is okay.
DeleteThis always makes me smile! Loved the eye test for pharmacists--made me chuckle. The meet and tweet was good as well.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed them, Bethany! Laughing is good for us :)
DeleteI feel like a combination of 1 and 5 at the moment. I've changed hosting companies this week and everything's so complicated I'm twisted up in stress. just trying to change my blog's url has put it down for a while until i fix it and i feel like smashing the pc, as well as google!
ReplyDeleteSounds very stressful! I hope everything gets sorted out for you. Hang in there!
DeleteShould be all done now and hopefully it stays that way. I was dealing with too many people at the company and was being told something different by all of them. It made it too complicated, I got too confused and now I have another stupid stuffed head and nose, but as of tonight, I am back online with my new domain url of www.ladyjewelsdiva.com It should work fine through blogger.
DeleteGood stuff. It is working with Blogger and it's also working with Bloglovin', which is where I follow blogs!
DeleteAs always the cartoons are a riot.
ReplyDeleteAs for your weekend. That is a LOT of people-ing for sure. I used to be far more social but have slowed down on how often I socialize. I don't really know why I have become more isolated but I do enjoy hubby and my alone time.
Hope you mom is OK. That's wonderful that you were able to help her.
Glad you enjoyed them, Cheryl! I like to socialize but not day after day like that. I need some quiet time to recharge my batteries.
DeleteSorry I am so late, this week flew by. I hope your mother's tests are fine. Sounds like you have been very social, as a fellow introvert, I understand the need to recharge after too much socializing. These are great cartoon, I like the Twister one and the new baby smell :) Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteNo need to apologize! We do have lives to lead :) My mom's test went well, thanks. And this week has been quiet, which is great. I needed the time to recharge.
DeleteI get the introvert bit, Martha! LOL I'm still recovering from twenty-five years among children and a way-overcrowded schedule. Loved your C&Cs as always. The eye doctor test for pharmacists was hilarious. Now a lot of doctors are using printed documents for prescriptions. I was at the eye doctor yesterday and found out that I have to have cataract surgery. That's the first thing that has actually made me feel 67! but I've revived from the shock and am looking forward to better vision. Have a good one!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for modern medicine, Louise. At least you can get that cataract taken care of. Oh, the joys of getting older! LOL
DeleteThe cartoons seem especially funny to me this week. I really like antisocial networking and the speech therapy. Travel safely, fellow introvert. I hope all is well with your mom.
