Saturday afternoon we drove to the West Island in Montreal to watch the most amazing man in the world's very close friend playing on stage with his two bands at the rib fest. A lot of people go there for the food but since I don't eat much meat, I'm not a fan of ribs or heavy sauces, and I steer clear of pork and fried foods, the smell from all those stalls was really overwhelming. I could feel my stomach doing somersaults at the very thought of eating anything from there. I thought the most amazing man in the world would want to try something from the competitors but he wasn't in the mood for any of it. Luckily we found one vendor that was selling veggie type foods with more wholesome ingredients and we got something light to eat. Hey, we all have our eating preferences. Yesterday was a very quiet, slacking-off kind of day because we need some of those, too.
And right now I'm going to share some funny stuff with you, so the day can start off with a smile. Let's get to it.
Have a great day ahead!
Visiting some of my blog friends friends today, so hello, Martha! Some family stopped by on Friday night, today...food shopping. Nothing too exciting really. I did get a good laugh at some of the funnies you posted, thanks.
ReplyDeleteHey CrystalChick, thanks for popping in and leaving a comment. I'm glad you got a kick out of this week's funnies :)
DeleteThanks for the laughs you sure are a healthy eater Martha!
ReplyDeleteNot always, Christine! LOL But I do prefer foods that are not processed or weighed down by lots of sugar.
DeleteI wouldn't want to eat all that heavy stuff, either. I'm glad you found something better suited to your tastes. The guy who has retired cartoon reminds me of when my dad retired. My mom bought a second TV and put it in the living room because she couldn't stand the way my dad commandeered the remote in the family room. He flipped through the channels constantly. I'm surprised she didn't smack him with a skillet or at least a wooden spoon.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
And their generation had some pretty heavy skillets, too :)
DeleteOooh, silly bimbo, lol...that one was funny. I know a girl like that ha ha! The weekend was slow and quiet for us too, it's been really humid out so we're not moving around too much! Sounds like you had fun at the rib fest, but I don't think I'd each much of that either, I'm not really a rib fan...but Alex would be in heaven!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of that type of food. Heavy meals like that make me feel sick. But there were enough people there to make up for my lack of interest! LOL You should have seen some of the plates people were carrying. Enough to feed an entire family!
DeleteI worked this weekend. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteHave a great week, Martha!
Hope it's been a good one for you, Birdie!
DeleteOMG, too funny! Loved the first one.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed!
DeleteLOL about pregnancy with triplets for 27 months! Too cute with the UBER driving one too :)
ReplyDeletebetty
Can you imagine if any pregnancy lasted that long?!
DeleteSo excellent - thanks for the laughs, Martha!
ReplyDeleteAlways a pleasure!
DeleteYou had me laughing out loud again, something to look forward to on Mondays!
ReplyDeleteThanks for that, John! I'm glad you enjoy.
DeleteHey, I might get baptised at that church. It would be wild! Maybe I'd get baptized a few more times!!!
ReplyDeleteI know, right? I think you'd have quite a line up for that place!
DeleteGlad you had a nice weekend. These comics are great, I like the uber driver :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed!
DeleteI'm glad that you had a great weekend, fueled with food you enjoy. I'm eating less and less meat these days, but I have to admit I do enjoy a small serving of great ribs. Loved the funnies, especially the retirement one. Terry wisely is quiet on how I tackle things ~ LOL Enjoy your week, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI'm eating so much less meat as I get older. I'm just not interested in it anymore. I prefer lighter meals and more vegetables. Easier on the digestion! LOL
Deletethat is good you took drive to meet your hubby's friend and had wonderful time there Martha!
ReplyDeleteas usual i again forgot to complete my comment on post below .
Poverty is painful to bear and terrible to observe .
If richest men in this world believe that in their short lives they won't be able to spend their whole money and take it out of banks and distribute among who need it badly they will make the correct use of it according to economical rules .
i know it sounds crazy for people who only think with brain and don't feel with their heart but i am the simple person with simplest solutions
Thank you for your thoughts, baili. You are a kind person. I believe we can eliminate poverty if we wanted to.
DeleteThe cat!
ReplyDeleteI feel like I've been run over this last month. Being sick for the second time in two months, dealing with idiot hosting companies, getting shit done...etc...etc...etc...so stressed out.
Sounds awful! I hope you get better soon.

ReplyDelete"Yeah we baptized 200 atheists this week alone and they keep coming back for another baptism"
DeleteHAHA! You'd have line ups at this place if this was really how it was set up :)
DeleteHi, the wife should be here tomorrow. That's great, it's always nice to see her. There's gonna come a time when I don't see her. That's sad. It's part of life and I've learned to expect it. No-one knows what's going to happen in the future. That worries me. I didn't envisage Usain Bolt ever losing to anyone. But it happened. Anything is possible. .Canada could win the next World Cup. Well, ALMOST anything is possible, but let's not get carried away here. It'll happen one day. Not yet though. 👀
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm late getting to my comments but I hope you had a lovely visit with your wife. You are right when you say no one knows what will happen in the future. It's all a crap shoot!
DeleteI know you posted these brilliant chuckles on Monday, and now it's Thursday!!!
ReplyDeleteThe days fly by.
Here in the UK we are looking forward to a three day weekend, as it's the late August Bank Holiday.
Many will be going to the London Notting Hill Carnival ... http://thelondonnottinghillcarnival.com/
Eddie and I usually stay close to home as the traffic on the roads can be quite heavy!
Hope your week so far has been a good one Martha
All the best Jan
Sounds like fun, Jan! I totally understand about the traffic. That's definitely not something I enjoy.
DeleteI've been trying to talk Frank into retiring. Cartoon makes me rethink it!
ReplyDeleteLove them all today.
HAHAHA! Well, you never know. It might turn out to be great.
DeleteGreat post! Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Shon.
DeleteHey up Martha, the weather here isn't brilliant, but we're used to it now. The pain I feel in the mornings is pretty bad. On a daily basis you don't notice the change Longer term you do.
ReplyDeleteIt'll start getting dark earlier and earlier until the holidays. Then we'll start heading in the opposite direction, which is great! Hope you didn't experience too much pain today :(
DeleteOh yes! Retirement 'adjustments'!! lol
ReplyDeleteSo true, Jim. A little compromise is needed :)
DeleteOooh, silly bimbo, lol...that one was funny. I know a girl like that ha ha! The weekend was slow and quiet for us too, it's been really humid out so we're not moving around too much! Sounds like you had fun at the rib fest, but I don't think I'd each much of that either,
