Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, blogging pals. How are you all doing? I hope life is treating you well. And if it isn't, I hope things get better. We have been very busy around here for quite some time and this week will continue to be the same. Today will include paint and paint brushes with a side order of relaxation squeezed in to recharge our batteries. I've fallen behind on my blog but that's nothing new. Once our house is fully settled, I'll get back to more blogging. What I am finding (or making) time for each day is drawing. Whether it's for an hour or just 15 minutes, I'm putting in time for practicing this new hobby. I find it very relaxing. I'll try to do a 'This Week' post on Friday or Saturday and share some photos of my progress and some thoughts. Until then, here's some funny stuff for you.

Have a good one!

  2. Wishing you a kick-ass new week. And I agree! Painting is relaxing. Drawing ... sketching, that entire realm of goodness. Glad to hear about your house! Most excellent. Also, I'm not really here. This is a WhiskBot. The real me is working on Tim's new ceiling ... or making doughnuts. Really, it could be either one.

    1. HAHA! Love your comment. I'm not really here right now, either. I'm downstairs finishing the painting in the bedroom :)

    1. That makes sense. It's better to paint when the weather is right. We had the perfect day on Monday for painting and just couldn't lose that opportunity!

  4. As usual, I did nothing this weekend. I was reading Martin Cole's book called The Take which darkened my mood and gave me a few nightmares too. It's a very violent book which I wouldn't recommend to anyone. I've got another two Martina Cole books to read. That will be quite a challenge. I thought she was a tennis player but she isn't. Apparently The Take has been turned into a film which stars Tom Hardy. It's really made me feel depressed at the moment.

    1. Sounds horrible. I've never heard of this book and I'm going to look it up out of curiosity. But I don't think I'd read something like that either. The last thing I need right now is sleep disturbance and nightmares.

    1. It's a lot of fun. Right now I'm drawing with a pencil and adding colour mostly with regular coloured pencils. But I hope to expand to watercolour pencils in the near future.

  8. You two are very focused to get so much done in such a short time, relatively speaking. I love the funnies, especially the "unfriending" and the birds!

    1. It doesn't feel like a short time for us. It feels like forever! LOL I just want to wrap up all this house stuff and be done with it. I'll be happy when all the cleaning and painting supplies are packed up and put away.

    1. I am enjoying myself way too much with this drawing! LOL I ask myself why I waited this long for something I've wanted to work on for years. I guess with the kids grown up and moved out, I have more time to explore new hobbies.

  13. Checking your past posts, sounds like you have been working non-stop on the house. At bet it will be beautiful when finished. Your drawings are really good, you have uncovered a hidden talent! Love the last cartoon... it's the same when I raise my camera to get a picture. lol

    1. We have been pretty consistent with the house but we do take lengthy breaks. This has helped us from getting fed up with all this work. I hoped we'd be done by now but if everything is wrapped up by the holidays, I'm good!

  14. I remember the "unfriending" like that just in the 80's.

  16. Those dang birds always do that to me. LOL Great C&Cs today, Martha! I'm behind in my blogging ~ Well I have been from the beginning. So no worries from me ~ I get it if you have to work on your house, and it eats up blogging time. Just don't say, "I quit!" Happy renovating and relaxing!
