And here we are again at the start of a new week. How is everyone doing? Anything new going on? Nothing to report here. Today we are painting. Again. We were supposed to have finished the front/living room by now but we ran into problems that delayed the project, the main issue being that the walls needed repairs and then those repairs needed time to dry. I tell you, sometimes it feels like we'll never get done with this place. *sigh* We have finished painting the ceiling at least, so there's that. Today we start on the walls. This is not an easy room to begin with because of its 12 foot high ceiling, something I'm not a fan of because rooms with high ceilings are difficult to clean or paint. Anyhow, today we'll make a lot of progress.
Right now, let's laugh with these Halloween-themed cartoons.
Happy Monday!
My brother has a tall ceiling in his living room, luckily all of mine aren't that tall
ReplyDeleteYou're lucky. They're a real pain. They look nice but difficult to maintain.
DeleteThese were all great cartoons for Halloween! Have fun painting! I am sure everything will get ready in the house! Gives you something to do!
ReplyDeleteBetty
It does, Betty. I think once everything is done around here we're going to be looking for projects!
DeleteThanks for the laughs, love the first one! And ceilings are hard, great job so far Martha.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the, Christine!
DeleteAnother good Monday morning started off with giggles and snickers supplied by my friend Martha :D
ReplyDeleteEvery Monday, Linda! We all need to laugh :)
DeleteWishing you success on those walls. Painting ceilings is a literal pain in the neck!
ReplyDeleteHaha...yes, it sure is!
DeleteYes, you must be getting pretty tired of it all by now. An entire house! But when you look back, you'll have such a feeling of accomplishment. Thanks for the chuckles once again! I LOVE the broomstick kiddies ride!!
ReplyDeleteWe can't believe how far along we are from when we started. The place looks brand new. It's been a lot of work, and we still have more to do, especially outside, but it's been worth it!
DeleteLOVE these cartoons today - people are so creative! Hope u get that painting done so you have a fun November without a lot of things to get done and you can go out and skip in leaves or sled down your street - which is the main event in November where you live.
ReplyDeleteWe are beginning to wrap up around here and I couldn't be happier. Just in time for Christmas! :)
DeleteMy dad designed and had built/helped build two houses in his life, both with 2 story high sloping ceilings with big wooded beams over the living areas. I guess he liked them. Cobweb collectors, impossible to clean, I always thought. Not something I'd ever choose.
ReplyDeleteGuess what our new house has....
HAHAHA! That is funny, Natalie :)
DeleteAll painting in my house is performed by my son, who doesn't like to do it but is very good at it. He also selects great colors.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
You are lucky! You've got your own personal home decorator :)
DeleteI'm afraid of climbing up on a ladder to paint high up.
ReplyDeleteBut it should be done this week so you can relax for a bit.
I'm not a fan either, John. If I have to do it I will, but I'd rather not!
DeleteOne great thing about a 12 foot ceiling is you can get a really big Christmas tree. These are great Halloween comics. Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA! So true. I love your positive perspective on this :)
DeleteLove the Halloween funnies! Have a good one.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed, Linda!
DeleteThank you for the laughs, Martha! I'm sorry that you ran into a few slowdowns on your painting. This too will pass! Me ~ I'm suddenly flying to Calgary on Thursday. The middle of my three younger sisters is retiring tomorrow, and she's having a big party on Friday in our nephew's restaurant. It's going to be fun! Have an awesome week!
ReplyDeleteOh, sounds like fun! I hope you have a great time.
DeleteOh, I hope your painting is soon over. You have so much energy to be able to do all that work on your house! I like the Wiccapedia one, noticed the mouse by the computer! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteHa ha! Thanks for pointing that out, Jenn! I missed it the first time around.
DeleteI only have energy because I'm not working outside of the home right now, Jenn! Or else this would take a much longer time :)
DeleteThe mouse! HAHAHA... I just noticed it :)
DeleteHappy Halloween, Martha!
ReplyDeleteHope you've had a lovely week!
DeleteI hope your painting is done soon. I think pairing tops my list for least favourite jobs.
ReplyDeleteLove the jokes! Thanks, Martha!
I actually like painting. I find it relaxing. It's the prep and cleanup that I cannot stand!
DeleteI LOVE to paint. Not that I'd want to do it every day mind you but I find it relaxing and usually LOVE the end results.
ReplyDeleteSince you are now a 'real' painter, do you have a preference, Martha?
Loved the 'it's perfectly normal to meet people' one!!
I'm with you, Jim. I also love painting. If someone would do the prep and cleanup, I'd love it even more :) My favourite type is furniture painting. Transforming an old piece into something bold and beautiful is very enjoyable. I've done a few pieces in our home that have saved us a few bucks. It's a quick way to get 'new furniture' into your home without spending a fortune! It's always a great way to buy time until you do go out and buy something new.
DeleteCats would probably do well collecting stashes of candy.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween, Martha!
HAHAHA! Thanks for the smile, Robyn :)
DeleteHappy Halloween, Martha! Love the little witch who wants to go on the broomstick ride!
ReplyDeleteThat is my favourite!
DeleteHappy Halloween! :) Those cartoons are great! I think that the main scary costume in this house would be a vacuum! Way back in the early 2000's when I had my condo, I had cathedral ceilings. I bought a ladder that specifically went up a gazzilion feet...and of course, I got terrified when I got half way up there lol...I couldn't paint. So I bought one of those extension rods which nearly killed my back and I did a horrible job! I would do it now with Alex holding the ladder, but when I was on my own, a spotty paint job was good enough for me lol!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I can handle being up high like that. My husband did the painting up on a scaffold and I was his helper :) I was also his chauffeur, wheeling him around from one spot to another. LOL
DeleteOh i am sorry for delay in progress dear Martha!
ReplyDeleteSometime in enthusiasm we ignore some important points that we have to deal first , it happens to us too sometimes.
It's okay time has to pass anyway and will ofcourse and sooner you won't even remember these tiring times because joys and easiness that is coming towards you will make you forget everything harsh you faced earlier.
I saw almost two years long time when our house was under construction .Day when hubby told me that for few days we have to delay process due to financial or contractor related issues my heart went low for hours. but finally it passed and happiness that brought this new home to our life vanished away all bad memories.
while making this house we asked contractor to keep ceilings of whole four rooms ,veranda even bathrooms and kitchen equally high.
here the painting or mending is quite hard to do by ourselves so we like all take paid help to do so .
Heartiest best wishes for your all tasks my dear!
Happy halloween,
hilarious chuckles!
It's hard to be patient with a home when you want to clean it up, put everything away and just enjoy it. But unfortunately these jobs couldn't be rushed. We had to take our time and do a good job. But we are finally done!
DeleteThese were so fun even though I'm so late reading them I still got a good chuckle out of them.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed, Ida. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteWhat a great selection for Halloween week!
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Hope it's been a great week for you, Jan!
