Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, blogging friends. How are you all doing? What have you been up to? I've been busy around the house. Last week we dropped off our last load of donations to the Salvation Army and I cleaned the place from top to bottom. Then we put up our Christmas decorations! Perhaps a little early, but after all the hard work we've done on this home since we came here in February, and all the exhaustion that came with it, the festive décor was a much-needed happiness boost. I also found the time to do some baking. I made brownies, chocolate chip cookies with a marshmallow center and maple glazed donuts. But the best part of the week was having my older daughter and her boyfriend over for dinner Saturday night. Family gatherings, especially where my daughters are involved, are what I love most.

How about you? What's going on? Share in the comments below.

And let's start the week with some laughter...

Have a beautiful day!

  2. Ha ha, I have to admit I've noticed Target is full of women, I wonder why? Of all the stores in the States I have to say it's one of my least favourite but that's mainly because it's quite expensive.

Glad you had a nice time with your older daughter.

    1. We had Target temporarily in Canada. Apparently we weren't too impressed with their stores and within two years they shut them all down and left.

  3. Oh, that Disney on Ice one, LOL! And I'm stealing the King of the Internet one for you-know-who. Actually, it should be "Queen" of the internet in her case.

  4. How fun to put up the Christmas decorations! I don't think it was too early. I did see driving around one night that someone had their Christmas tree up before Thanksgiving here last week :) LOL on the cartoons!

  6. Good chuckles this morning.

Already decorated for Christmas? Whoa. You are one ambitious woman! Remember, Christmas decorations don't actually have to be down and packed away until Valentine's Day, so grant yourself some rest after the New Year!

    1. We usually take down our tree by the second week in January, so we'll be enjoying it for a few more weeks.

    1. We usually don't put it up this early but the past two Christmases (with our home up for sale) we'd been without one. So I guess we were excited this year to be able to put it back up!

  9. I like the auto correct one. I was texting my son and went to sign off with "mom" and accidentally hit one of the suggested words instead and signed off as "momentum". -Jenn

  11. I wish I had your energy! I was so tired from cooking and cleaning for Thanksgiving that I didn't get the tree up yet. Cute comics. :)

  12. I don't think a lot of women realize that a bar is the last place (well normal hangout place anyways) they want to go to have a man ask them out.

    1. I've never been a bar person myself. And I think online dating is a great way to meet.

  14. I thought I left a comment but I must have gone and hit "close tab" AGAIN without publishing first - ack. I loved all of these, but the Target one was the snicker-out-loud winner this week :)

You and your husband have put in an extraordinary amount of work on your house - I'm glad you can now kick back and enjoy the rest of the year. And what a great time of year to kick back!

    1. It is a wonderful feeling, Rain. It's a little surreal, really. We've gone from one end of the spectrum (the house a total mess) to the other (the house in perfect order). I can't believe that we're here. But I'm so happy we are! I hope you are feeling much better and those nasty migraines are completely gone.
