Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, friends. What's new? How was your weekend? Saturday morning I drove to the city of Vaudreuil in Quebec to meet my brother for coffee and a chat. It had been quite some time since we'd done this. I got there an hour earlier so I could visit some stores that we don't have here. I generally don't care for shopping but this time of year, with all the holiday decorations, I enjoy browsing the stores. There are so many pretty things to see.

Today I'm going to keep busy with some cooking and baking. I'm going to attempt to veganize a family favourite cookie recipe with my younger daughter in mind. We're planning to get together here for Christmas and I'd like to prepare a few things for her to enjoy and to take back home to Ottawa. Because that's what mamas do.

Now let's get to the funny stuff.
(The entire month will consist of holiday type humour.)

Have a good one!

  6. I LOVE these, Martha. The winner, however, has to be "Merry Snmgfiehp" - hilarious!! Thank you for the laughs. Good luck with the baking! I know what you mean about taking care of children, even when they're all grown up :)

    1. We never stop being moms. That's just the way it is! In any case, I love doing stuff like this for my girls. They're not here anymore, so having an opportunity to care for them is very satisfying.

  7. Oh, these are great. Yeah, that sign in little blocks kinda takes the "Merry" out of "snmg..." Funny!
Have a good week, dear Martha.

    1. Does he climb it? Our cats pretty much leave it alone but we tie it to secure it in place. Just in case...

  10. Very funny! I was one of those "not so wise" gals who did that! When I was in grade school, someone dared a bunch of people to stick their tongues to the pole in January. Of course, me needing praise, I did it. Yeegosh...that was painful pulling it off! I'm glad you had a good time with your brother!! :)

  13. I'm curious what you are trying to make vegan for the big dinner? Probably not the turkey! The not-so-wise men remind me of the scene from "A Christmas Story". I don't know if you are familiar with that movie, or not. -Jenn

    1. LOL Yes, not the turkey. But pretty much everything else. It's easy to convert most recipes. This week I've been working on some family favourite cookies. I'd like my daughter to enjoy them, too.

  17. Not so wise men...ha!
That first one makes me miss my cat...after trying to destroy the tree she would curl up on the Christmas tree skirt and sleep. I miss her.
