Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, blogging pals! What are you all up to? How was your weekend? Do you have anything fun or interesting to share? How is life treating you? My daughter and her boyfriend came over for dinner Saturday night, which was wonderful. I cooked a lasagna that I served with salad and everything was delicious. We had picked up a cheesecake for dessert and the kids brought along a box of fresh puffs (loukoumades), which are Greek donut holes from a placed called Mr. Puffs. And on my flippin' goodness were they ever good! I know puffs (loukoumades) very well since they are a favourite traditional Greek treat and most moms I knew growing up made them. And I don't think there's a single person with Greek ancestry that hasn't enjoyed these at some point since they date all the way back to ancient Greece. Now someone has decided to market them and share them with everyone. My daughter said that this pastry/café shop is a huge hit. If you ever find yourself in Montreal, stop by this place and try these sweets. They are so good! Click here to go to the website.

Nothing else to say on my end. I feel like I have blog burnout. Or I'm bored. Or I've run out of words. Or I have the winter doldrums (which should be ending soon). Whatever it is, I haven't been motivated to keep up with this blog. So I don't. It'll pick up when it picks up. In the meantime, I'll post occasionally and continue to visit your sites.

For now, here's some funny stuff to start the week off right. Enjoy!

    1. That's right, Debra. Blogging without obligation. Or else it becomes a chore.

  2. I love the rebelling dogs in obedience school! Yes, I've been slacking off on the blogging too. It's okay to take a break.

  4. Love those dogs ganging up on the teacher!! As usual, all good and very welcome on a Monday :)

I've noticed a definite ebb and flow in my blogging, so I get how you feel. With me the dry times are when I can't get outside. A connection or a coincidence? I don't know!

    1. I feel the same way, Jenny. I'm more inspired to blog when I spend time outdoors. Last year we put most of our time into our home, which was understandable. This year we plan to get outside and explore, so maybe my blogging will pick up when our adventures begin!

  7. love all the cartoons - favorite the dog obedience one. Busy weekend with my family and yesterday was somewhat laid back and today I woke up to snow. That's about it as far as my exciting life goes. I love the low level excitement the best. i know about blogger burnout I go through it often. Have a great week!

  8. totally relating to Ka-ching! Nothing knocks me out of a meditative trance or lucid dream like a self pat on the back! Wish I could put my ego in time-out in a box on a shelf!

Peacefully desiring to be one with the universe, I light candles, sit quietly, the monk me sits. First sign of connection and the bedazzled pony-tailed cheerleader me gets out her pom-poms and does a yell!

Blog Without Obligation...Remember, you are the boss of you!

  9. Loukoumades!!! We LOVE them and were introduced to these sweet little rascals over a decade ago in our favourite Greek restaurant here. Just proves I am 35% Greek! Off to get some tomorrow! Thanks for reminder, Martha!
Blogging is no fun if not motivated. That was how I felt when I went on my 'blogging vacation'. I am thinking though that when I get back to it again it will be different somehow from my past blog. We'll see.
Have a great week and thanks for the laughs!

    1. And there you have it, Jim! LOL The Greek in you cannot resist loukoumades, which is the only word I know them to be called. The word puffs was a surprise to me but I guess it's easier to say than the Greek one. Try saying loukoumades a few times and see how quickly you get tongue tied. LOL

I do hope you get back to blogging one day. I really enjoy your posts. You'll know when the time is right to return.

Sorry you have those winter blues. They hit me hard too. I've never heard of Loukoumades...but I checked out that website and boy do they look delicious! I'm glad you had a nice time on Saturday! :)

  16. That's why a few years back I cut down to one day a week, on my author blog, anyway. I cut down to two days a week on my style blog. It helps. It also helps planning out the year and taking time off. At least you know what days to come up with something, and when to take time off. It definitely helps refresh the system.
