Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, everyone! How was your weekend? Did you do anything special? Different? Exciting? Fun? We were supposed to go to my best friend's for dinner but plans were canceled because her father-in-law suffered a heart attack. Thankfully it was a minor one and he is being treated for it. Hopefully he'll get back home within a day or two. This is a reminder of how fragile and unpredictable life is. And to be mindful of every moment.

Now let's get to some funny stuff to add some joy to the day!

Have a good one!

    1. I did end up including a lot of pet funnies, didn't I? Purely coincidental. But fun :)

  3. Don't blame that girl, her low IQ mind can't understand that the world is round. She also thinks Trump is a good president.

    1. I'm hoping that this is just a made up joke. It would be even more scary than funny that someone could be this...dense.

  6. Hi Martha,
life is indeed fragile for all of us, whether we like it or not. I’ve been there and have got the tee shirt. It’s not a very nice feeling when you know life can be taken away from you at any moment. It doesn’tmatter how old you are either. I’ve had a very quiet weekend but have felt the pain too. I’m used to it by now and it just makes me tougher. I deal with it all on a day-to-day basis. That’s all I can do.

    1. Very true, Terry. Life is indeed fragile. We don't know moment to moment what to expect. And we must live each day as fully and joyfully as we can.

  10. Interesting to look at what makes these different cartoons funny. Long dull snowy weekend here.

    1. It sounds a lot like our weekend. We didn't get snow but the snow we have hasn't melted. It's still a little too cold out.

  11. Sorry about the heart attack. Though, I never really fully get when they say mild. I mean I get it, but at the same time, I don't. Does that make sense? Anyway, healing wishes.

Our weekend whooshed the flip by. We put together a bathroom furniture thing for Tim's bathroom and today after work, I put all the goodies inside.

Tomorrow, the celebration of SPRING starts. Lasts until the end of April. Fun times.

    Cheers and boogie boogie.

    1. I think the difference is that a major one could leave permanent heart damage and even be fatal. And with the minor one that he had, he will probably make a full recovery. This is good news for him.

I LOVE that spring is here. Now if only the weather would get better. I'm looking forward to spending time outdoors on long walks and taking photos on our cycling adventures.

Hope your day is a good one!

    2. But both are serious and that's something I see people blow off.

Have a great weekend to you!

    3. Agreed! This man had a minor heart attack that wasn't fatal but a whole bunch of complications could arise from it that could be. So yeah, totally agree!!

  14. Ha ha ha ha...I LOVE the Monet cartoon, that is so damn clever!!! Too funny. And the map...hilarious. My weekend was spent prepping for yesterday's shopping day. Today I'm kind of relaxing but still have some blanching and freezing to do. Plus it's Ostara so I have a new cake to make!!! Happy first day of Spring Martha! You'll be digging in the dirt in no time! :) Sorry to hear about your friend's father in law, how scary, but yes, we should always live as though this might be our last day on Earth! :)

    1. Oh the dreaded shopping day! LOL Well, at least that's done. Now you can concentrate on things that make you happy. I am so glad spring is here. You wouldn't know it looking outside the window but we are past the worst months and things should get better. I am really looking forward to doing some gardening this year. It's been much too long!

  16. Hi Martha, i’ve been a vegetablist for ages now but got really worried when I was dreaming of celery and red peppers the other night. To top it all they expect me to attend a stress class in Leicester at 6pm. The questions like “How do you handle stress?” and other situations are bound to come up. It’s something I deal with everyday - stress. But I just grin and bear it. This is a course that I could enjoy doing. I was told the other day that everybody needs some sugar. Now, I get really confused and stressed out, Sugar is only a recent addition to our diets. The trouble is everything has some sugar in it....

    1. That sounds like an interesting course. I hope you enjoy participating in it. I've always found that talking things out and hearing what I say helps me. As for sugar, it really is everywhere, but some of it is natural, like in fruit, and a lot more healthier!

  17. as usual.............. love them all. Not much happening, have gone a few places, seen a few birds, listened to a few youtubes and vacuumed my downstairs. That's about it for me.
