Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, blogging pals! How is everyone doing? What have you been up to? Was the weekend good to you? We've had really gloomy weather for the past few days with cool temperatures and rain. But at least there's no snow. So there's that.

Yesterday we went to Ottawa to visit my daughter and her boyfriend. We ordered in some food and had lunch at their place. And then we drove back home with this little lady:

She's my daughter's cat and her name is Obi, short for Obsidian. This beautiful little furball will be staying with us for a month while my daughter and her boyfriend travel. And where are those lucky young people going for a month? To three different destinations: Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. Isn't that amazing? It is a trip that they will never forget! While they're away, Obi will be safe and well cared for by us. And maybe a little spoiled, too.

Isn't she precious? I certainly think so.

Obi is the important visitor that I mentioned on Friday. Now you know.

Time to get to the funny stuff!

Have a good one!

    1. My daughter and her boyfriend are going to have an amazing time. It's a wonderful experience for them. Obi has settled in quite nicely in our home. She is very sweet and laid back. We're going go get extremely attached to her and when it's time for her to go home, it's going to be hard!

  7. It's nice that Obi has a good spa to stay in while her mom is away :) What does your own kitty think about the whole thing?

You will have a lot of catching up to do when your daughter and her boyfriend get back -- a month is a lot of travelling!

Thank you for the funnies -- I think my favourite this week is the hand :)

    1. Obi is being spoiled! She is adorable. The kitten is remarkably social, so it's been smooth sailing with her. Our other cat, the one that is about 8, is a little fearful but it's also gone a lot better with her than I expected. We've only had Obi with us for a little over 48 and things are quite peaceful. I am SO relieved.

  8. I love the Trojan horse one (which reminds me of the scene in Holy Grail). That sounds like an amazing trip your daughter is taking. What a lucky little cat to be able to stay with you. What does your cat think of this? -Jenn

    1. It is a pretty remarkable trip. I can't wait to see their photos when they return, although she'll probably share some online, too. The management of the three cats (we have two of our own) has gone a lot better than I expected. Not one of them is aggressive and that has been a huge help! So far, so good :)

  11. Hi Martha, i’ve had a tortuous weekend.. i’ve slept through most of it, not by choice, though..the water infection is back and I can hardly move. I’m on antibiotics to try and correct the situation. It really is awful and it’s giving me nightmares. I’m starting to feel better. I wondered who your mystery guest was. I thought it was human at least. I had no idea it was a cat. Hi

this is wonderful that you daughter and her boyfriend are leaving for travels which sounds so exciting

Loved the funnies specially the finger's claim :)

we are dealing with high temps here and warm winds which bring dust all over but how sad that cannot ask or pray for rains because rains are harmful for date gardens until august so enjoy your mild lovely weather my friend!

    1. She is being spoiled! I just love her. She is the sweetest cat and she has handled this like a superstar. It's been quite an ordeal having to be removed from her home and tossed into an environment with other cats she doesn't know. But she's been amazing. Her eyes are a beautiful colour but not that blue. The flash on my camera has done that!
