Peace On Earth

I don't have the answers to the world's problems but I truly believe that in order for the "peace on earth" that we parrot every year around this time to go from being a hollow statement to having true meaning, it must begin within us.

Perhaps if we open our heart and mind to people of a different culture, religion, political affiliation, race, language, heritage, social status, perspective, sex...and embrace them, instead of being fearful, judgmental, greedy, angry, intolerant and uncompromising, we just might get there.

Imagine what billions of people could accomplish by being united instead of divided.

Just imagine.

  1. I agree, but it seems so bleak. The 'GOP' (and all it's believers) have become so intolerant of corruption at the highest level, and so blatantly mean and defiant about it, that it's hard to swallow. At least, that is what I see on a daily basis. I just don't know how we turn back from all of this. I really don't.

    1. I've never seen your country like this before but I truly believe that one day this will all be a bad memory. I have faith in the American people.

  2. I misspoke. They have become so TOLERANT of corruption. Not intolerant.

    1. It won't last. These types of people are eventually kicked to the curb.

  3. It just takes a little spark to make a big fire (and hopefully not a wildfire) but it takes one person to be peaceful to "rub" it to the next person to be peaceful and so on down the line. Let it indeed begin with us and hope it spreads throughout the whole world. A little more compassion and a whole lot of love and this world would be such a better place.

  5. Though honestly, if humanity did unite we'd probably declare war on Mars.

    we'll never learn, unfortunately.

    1. I think we can do better. There'll always be corrupt people but if the majority unite, those corrupt people will lost power.

  8. Well said. I had a life changing experience when I lived in the north with aboriginal people. I came to realize they had a rich culture and were very supportive people.

    1. When we immerse ourselves in another culture, that's when we truly learn about them and understand their ways. It's a wonderful learning experience and it opens up our mind!
