Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, blogging friends! How is everyone? What's new? What's going on? We've got tons of sunshine here this morning and I am so grateful for that. I'm also grateful for melting snow, a cold that was trying to get a grip on me for a few days but seems to be losing the battle, and my second cup of coffee in a mug with an adorable lady bug on it and the inscription "You're My Love Bug". The most amazing man in the world bought it for me last year, which makes it extra special. It's the little things in life that bring us the most joy, amiright?

Hey, you know what I tried for the first time ever last week? Zoodles! You know...zucchini noodles that you create with a spiralizer. I've been meaning to try them for ages but never got around to it. I suppose not having a spiralizer played a huge part in the delay (duh) but I ran across a hand-held one for only $3 at a shop I was browsing a couple of weeks ago and couldn't resist buying it. So I finally made some zoodles (don't you love that word?). And...drumroll...I LOVED them. Holy crap on a cracker, are they ever good. I can't believe I waited this long. They will replace regular pasta and contribute to my journey of shedding a few pounds and getting into shape. Have you ever tried zoodles?

Now enough blah, blah, blah... Let's get to the funny stuff. Enjoy and have a fabulous day!

  1. That is so cute with the cat and the world! Loved them all, but had to really laugh with the guy pleading in court :)

I love zoodles and we just recently tried them for the first time a few months back. They are so easy to make too! And so much healthier than pasta!

  3. Glad you are fighting off that cold. I have been afraid to try zoodles, the grocery store even has some all ready to use in the produce dept. I love zucchini so I am guessing I would like them too.
Great comics, I like the cat playing with Australia :) Have a wonderful week! XO

    1. What kind of introvert would I be if I didn't hide in my house when the doorbell rings? LOL It is my sanctuary!

  12. Haha! I so wish I had had that map of the cat playing with Australia when I was teaching my third graders about Australia and maps! This introvert is guilty of going silent when she didn't want to answer the door. I have not tried zoodles. I have been making homemade soups though. I'm on the hunt for an immersion blender, so I don't have to puree hots soups in a blender. Have a great week, Martha!

    1. I love homemade soups, Louise! I always have a whole bunch of them in the freezer for quick meals. Yesterday I made a batch of cream of brussels soup. First time I've ever made this, or even tried it. Turned out so delicious!

Immersion blenders are fantastic! I used to have one but gave it to my daughter when she went off to university. I should consider getting another one at some point. They are good to have.

Hope your week is going well!

    2. I'll bet it was great soup, Martha! I gave up on canned soups when I realized that Campbell's "Healthy Request" tomato soup had high fructose corn syrup in it. Good thing too, because homemade tomato soup is fabulous. I tried homemade potato and leek soup today for the first time. It was delicious, and I have enough to freeze for two quick meals. Take care!

    3. Indeed. Those soups are awful. And some of them are even really high in salt. Ever since I started reading food labels, I've realized how much crap is out there! There are a few healthy things but you need to look at ingredient lists and nutritional labels to find out what's what. I have to agree with you on the homemade tomato soup. Once you have that, there's no going back! I've never tried potato and leek, and now I must. LOL Take good care!
