Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, everyone, and happy April! I hope this month is good to all of you. We still have snow around the city but I can't imagine it sticking around much longer. It's going to warm up this week and it'll all melt. Be gone, snow. Be gone. It's time to see some greenery and the first flowers of spring.

What have you been up to? Anything new? I'm still on my journey to better health. I've lost another 1.4 pounds this week. Doesn't sound like much but I'm aiming for no more than a 1 - 2 pound loss per week, which will make the weight loss sustainable long term. It's all about lifestyle. So, patience is key. And so is focus, commitment and dedication.

Now let's get to the funny stuff! Enjoy and have a wonderful week ahead.

  1. Thanks for the laughs, I hear you on getting fit and slim again, this winter....

  2. Great job on the weight loss! So true to go about it in a slow way; it does stay off better that way. We're still maintaining our weight loss and I think its because we did it slow and got those good habits established on healthy eating.

    Loved the dog one!

    1. I agree, Betty. Taking it slow is much better. I'm not looking for a quick fix. I'm looking for long term management, so changing some habits instead of crash dieting is the best way to go. I like healthy eating but I really slacked off this winter. Ah well, at least I'm back on track.

  3. Ha. Eating the couch - very wise suggestion.
    Have a good week, Martha.

  4. Haha, a funny batch this week! I cut the front lawn today. It's really nice and sunny here in the UK.

Well done with the weight loss. I'm slowly going down too, but it's hard work!

    1. It's a pain in the ass, is what it is. But I am feeling so much better since I got on this journey. Certainly more energized!

  5. Hilarious - and we still use the 1978 style GPS directions . . . only works with people who've been here as long as we have, though; kinda confusing for anyone else :)

Love the low-cost Ouija Board! Too funny!

Good going on the steady weight loss. I'm starting to feel motivated again, now that the better weather is here. There are so many foods that are off-limits for me (GI issues, so no fruit, berries, caffeine, artificial sweeteners, or large amounts of fibre) it's hard to lose but I am determined, and it goes much easier when I get out moving around. I eat less and burn more :)

    1. I think it's much easier to lose when this time of year rolls in. We spend more time outdoors walking, cycling, gardening, etc. I'm looking forward to getting rid of the winter slacking off weight in its entirety and feeling better in the process.

You know, I was just speaking to a good friend recently about this GPS stuff. When we were young, we were able to get around without any of these modern gadgets and we always got to where we needed to go. Now everyone is lost without the technology!

Good on you about the weight loss. I've got a goal - get out and walk and hike and then come home and eat like crazy and hope it works! So far I'm maintaining my balance - nothing ever changes on my scale but I have legs of steel, lol

  18. Martha, I corrected the salmon burger recipe if you do try it, the oil is meant for cooking the burgers not to be a part of the burger.
