Happy Monday, blogging pals! How is everyone doing? I've been extremely busy lately. I started spring cleaning last week and will continue the same craziness in the next few days. I'm physically tired but at least my house is getting nice and clean. It's also been somewhat busy socially, which is nice. Mondays are for volunteering at the food bank in the afternoon and attending a tarot class at night, Tuesdays are for the paint party get-together and Sundays are the meetup at the metaphysical store with a bunch of friends. I have to say that every one of these activities is oodles of fun! Last week I did my first tarot reading for a student in the class and absolutely loved it. I find the whole system fascinating. It'll be sad when this class ends but I'll come out of it with some wonderful knowledge.
And you know what I'm really excited about? Well, let me tell you... This morning I got on the scale and found out that I reached my goal of losing 10 pounds! OHMYFLIPPINGGOSH...I am so happy. By dumping the junk food, exercising regularly and eating healthy, I've done what I set out to do. I've been losing about 1.4 pounds a week since I started this journey; a nice, slow pace that will allow me to easily manage this weight long term. Crash diets never work. You usually end up gaining back the weight, and sometimes even more on top of it. Believe me, I have been there. Slow and steady is always the best way.
So I'm happy and busy and exhausted. Not entirely in that order!
Now enough about me. Let's get to the funny stuff.
Wishing you all an amazing week ahead.
Another good week of cartoon selection. Love the one showing the difference between dogs and cats.
ReplyDeleteIt is a favourite of mine! Cats always give you 'the look of disapproval' :)
Deleteghost broccoli, hahaha. You are inspiring with the weight loss.
ReplyDeleteSlow but steady, Christine. And healthy food! Once I dumped the junk, it became very easy.
DeleteCongrats on losing 10 pounds! Great comics- I like the swimming cat. Have a wonderful week! XO
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love the look on its face? HAHA Had me laughing out loud!
DeleteLOl with the counting of sheep!! Good for you for getting to your weight loss goal. Now to keep it off :) Have fun spring cleaning; never fun to do but always a great sense of accomplishment when it is done!

As you know, Betty, it's what we eat that plays a huge role in our weight management. So as long as I behave and keep away from junk, I'll be okay :) In all this time I've been eating good, healthy food and I haven't once felt hungry. It's amazing what a positive reaction we get from our body when we give it real food.
DeleteHa ha, love the murderous sheep, the swimming cat and the ghost broccoli! It's fun to read tarot, isn't it? I'm happy you're enjoying yourself so much!
ReplyDeleteIt is a lot of fun to read tarot! I've always wanted to learn and I'm so pleased how far I've come. I'm sure it'll be a lifelong learning process. There is always something new to discover with the cards. It's pretty amazing.
DeleteWhen my pants look at me like that, I know it's more than mere suspicion. They've seen it all -- they were there.
ReplyDeleteHAHA! They have. Our pants know all our secrets :)
DeleteLove the pants and the pissed-off cat!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed!
DeleteI adore the last picture. The cat looks exactly like our cat, Samson. You have such a full week. I guess living in the city has its advantages, in that you have many choices of things to do. Have a great week, Martha! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteWe have a cat like that, too! And she'd probably have the same look on her face :)
DeleteThis is a smaller city, so there's not as much to do as what was available in the previous cities I lived in, especially Montreal. But we do try to get involved in things to keep from going nuts!
Well done on the weight loss! You make it sound easy, but I've found it to be very hard to get out of the habits that put the pounds on in the first place. So my hat is off to you!
ReplyDeleteLove the funnies. I think my favourite this week has to be the pants (but only because I've seen the cat ones before - cats usually win, lol) Thanks for the smiles.
It can be quite difficult to get out of old habits but having to buy a new wardrobe because clothing was getting a little too snug cured me of that...LOL... It actually went very smoothly once the junk food was all gone. Our body responds quite well to healthy food that it knows what to do with. Not always easy to do with all the temptation out there but necessary for me to feel better, more energetic and happier.
Deletelolol...the pissed off cat...swimming in the flood. Cats crack me up! Your life sounds busy and fun - I use to do a lot of metaphysical things when I was younger, with my friends. I think I own about 15 tarot decks that I've never gotten rid of. Good for you on the weight loss. that is fantastic! I'm back to starting my indoor excerising. I still go out whenever I can walking or hiking but the weather in the mountains is bipolar - windy or ...take your pick....there's a lot going on quite often - and then summer we get the monsoonal weather up here a lot. too humid.
ReplyDeleteI've actually been enjoying the indoor exercising. There are so many fantastic YouTube videos that you can follow along with. I have a morning routine that works that I do and it leaves me feeling very energized. Our weather is still not that great. April was a complete loss but I hope May is better. I'm tired of being stuck indoors!
DeleteI'm doing a happy dance for you! Well done on your weight loss :)
ReplyDeleteYou sound as if you are having a busy but fun time.
Loved the funnies, especially the counting of sheep one.
Have a great week, and happy May wishes.
All the best Jan
Thank you, Jan! I must say that your blog inspired me to improve my eating habits, which in turn have played a huge role in this weight loss. So, thank you! I'm generally a healthy eater but I fell off the bandwagon this past winter. No worries. I'm back on track.
DeleteI hope you have been enjoying a lovely week!
OMG the fake weather cracked me up, as did the cat and dog. Congrats on your weight loss, you're right on the mark when you say slow and steady is the way to go. Keep up the good work. Glad you're enjoying your class so much.
ReplyDeleteI decided I'd be patient and just lose a little at a time, so it would be easy to maintain over time. I'm eating healthy and I have a lot more energetic. I will continue on this journey because I'm feeling great in every way.
DeleteThe tarot class is fantastic. I can't believe my good fortune at finding a course for free at the library! It's just amazing!
I love the expression that cat has while swimming!
ReplyDeleteRight? It had me laughing out loud!
Deletecongratulations on your weight loss goal! Steady and sensible do last longer, for sure! p.s., yes I'm back to blogging. But I'm doing it at my old blogger site, https://agentlebreeeze.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful that you're back to blogging! I'll add the link to your old blog back on my Bloglovin' list!
DeleteWay to go, Martha! Congratulations on meeting you're weight loss goal! It is not easy. Funny funnies as always, especially the last one.
