Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, everyone! How are you doing? Did you have a good week and an even better weekend? Do share in the comments below.

I finished all my spring house cleaning, which really exhausted, me but now I'm free to concentrate on other things...primarily the outdoors. There are a lot of jobs to do outside but the most exciting one is that we will soon be planting cedars around our property, so we will FINALLY be creating some privacy around our corner lot. The company that we hired to do the job will be coming on June 4th. Can't wait! Privacy is essential for us introverts.

Our weather has been awesome! The rain finally stopped, the sun has come up, temperatures have risen and we've been able to enjoy lengthy walks. We haven't gone cycling yet but that should be coming up very soon. Also, road trips! I'm looking forward to exploring our city and surrounding areas. I just love this time of year.

Here's something fun. My younger daughter, as some of you may remember, plays in a band called 'The Monotymes' with three other friends. They do a lot of public performances in different venues in Ottawa and they're having a great time. Anyhow, I'm excited to share the video below that showcases one of their newest songs. My daughter is the bass player and backup singer to the right. I hope you enjoy!

Now let's get to today's funny stuff, shall we?

Have a great day!

  1. Enjoyed the video, and thanks for the laughs today Martha! We should get lots of rain to get those cedars to take root, the way things have been going.

    1. I hope so, Christine. We won't be planting them until the beginning of June, which may or may not be hot and dry. But I hope it's not too bad and gives those cedars a chance to take root.

  2. Good for you for finishing the spring cleaning! I agree, it would be good to have more privacy; that's why I like our brick wall in the back. Great song of your daughter and her band! Talented! I also like the name of their band. Catchy!

    1. Privacy is something we have none of with our property right now, so I'm really looking forward to getting some soon! It'll encourage me to spend more time in our backyard; something I don't do at all right now.

Thanks for the lols - I love the grumpy looking corpse, the alien with the big denture smile and the dog/cat hugs/kisses - so true to life, that one :D

  6. I do love that about dogs. Even the most loving cat doesn't compare to a somewhat friendly dog.

    1. True. You have to earn a cat's affection!

  10. the comics are hilarious especially the one with the cat charging so much for a hug and you have to fill out a form....hahahaha. Love the video and your "girl" is adorable and the band and the tune is really fun to watch. I really really enjoyed it - what fun they must have being in this band. Seeing the video - I would have loved that as a young girl ...playing in a band, how cool is that.

  14. Hi Martha :)
What a nice song, your daughter is your spitting image! Nice to see she's enjoying life like that! I wanted to play piano for a living back in the day, but life happened I guess lol...one day I hope to get a piano again and re-teach myself how to play. Funny funnies! :)
Oh privacy...we are akin on that. If I could I'd build a fortress round this place lol!

    1. HAHAHA! A fortress sounds good to me. George joked about having a moat around our home to keep the undesirables away LOL

  15. I'm losing it! I was so sure that I replied to this last Monday! I so enjoyed the video with your daughter, and it's not hard to tell whose daughter she is! Loved all the funnies too. I obviously did something wrong when posting my comment. I hope that you've had a lovely weekend! Mine was filled with making an offer on a house and not getting it. Terry is still in Vegas. It's all good! Have a great week! Hugs to you.
