Happy Monday, friends! How's is everything? What did you do this weekend? Anything new going on? Not much to report on our end. Just keeping busy and trying to get out and enjoy life. We haven't had much of a spring up until now but I'm hoping things will really pick up as we head towards June.
Our cedars were planted last week on Wednesday. The company that we hired did an amazing job and we are extremely pleased with the results. Each little tree (about 4 feet tall) was planted with great care and with a whole lot of TLC. This doesn't surprise me since all the cedars are personally grown by the company we hired, so it's their babies! I will gladly recommend this business to others and I am grateful to them for a job well done.
Now let's laugh, shall we? Enjoy!
Glad you got your cedars in. I had a bbq with family yesterday so it was a good weekend. Thanks for the chuckles, these are all great. I like the color in the lines best, but they all made me chuckle. Have a nice week! XO
ReplyDeleteOh, that sounds like fun with the family! I'm glad you had a nice time. xo
Deletethe banjo player ...hahaha Glad the trees were successfully planted, now the watering...
ReplyDeleteOh yes, the watering! Thankfully we've been having rain lately and it's been somewhat cool. That's easier on these young plants.
DeleteHad a good laugh at all of these! Have a great week, Martha!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Same to you, Debra :)
Deletehahahaha insulation too funny. Congrats on the planting of those cedar trees - the company sounds great - can't wait to see them. I have cedars right outside my window . incense cedars ...and i love them. here in the mountains nature planted them but either way they are beautiful trees. we too are finally going to get some summer weather soon when this last storm completely moves out - it is having trouble deciding so far today to completely leave. It likes it here i guess.
ReplyDeleteThose cedars sound lovely, Sandy. I'm not sure what type we have. I should check. They do smell really nice, which I'm quite pleased about. I'm looking forward to them growing big, so we can have complete privacy!
Deletei'm not sure if they smell nice - living here in the mountains when we get rain ...a lot of things smell mountainy and nice. I will go out some day when it's damp and smell those darn trees and let you know. You would think they would with that name.
DeleteHAHAHA! Yes, you'd think so. Anyhow, if you remember, let me know. I'm curious now.
DeleteHa ha ha ha...love the dig on Camilla...and the haircut kitty reminds me of Moe from the Three Stooges, the original bowl cut!!! Did the company give you tips on how to keep your cedars healthy? We have some cedars here that are looking pretty sad. We think the people who rented here before us pruned them and we found out later that's a no-no.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, they certainly did! They gave us a sheet of information on how to care for them. And this company raises their own cedars, so I imagine they consider all the little trees they plant their babies! :)
DeleteLOL with the cat and the hair cut! Also with the hat on Camilla; too funny! Glad the hear the cedars got planted and they look good!
ReplyDeletebetty
I'm glad you enjoyed, Betty. Starting the week with humour is good for us :)
DeleteThat's supposed to be a hat? My first thought was that she must have survived an explosion in a cotton-candy factory.
ReplyDeleteThe British aristocracy do seem to have a thing for atrocious hats. Perhaps you remember this monstrosity.
Best of luck with your new trees!
HAHAHA! The cotton candy comment is hilarious. It sure does look like it! And yes, I do remember that monstrosity. People had a field day creating memes with that one!
DeleteHello, Duchess of Cornwall. Feel free to wear a smaller hat. It really does look like insulation. The cat is funny, too. When I was growing up, I hated it when my mom cut my bangs. I was so glad when I was about 13 and I could say that I was going to let my bangs grow and push them back to the side. I still won't wear bangs.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
I think we've all had that 'cutting of bangs by mom' trauma! LOL
DeleteThose hats always make me laugh. Some of them are so ridiculous!
The little ones called fascinators that perch on the side of the woman's head are fascinating. It must take a lot of glue to get them to stay put.
DeleteRight? Who feels like going through that hassle just to wear something that ridiculous to begin with? :)
DeleteThe cat haircut is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteRight? Love it!
DeleteOh yay for well planted trees! They'll grow quickly for you. OMG, the cat one!! I probably gave the same hair cut to my child!! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! These trees are already off to a great start. I am so grateful to the company for the care they give these little babies and for the hard work they put in to do a really good job.
DeleteAnother great set of funnies - I especially like One-Eyed Bob the banjo player, and the cat haircut - what a sweet, funny kitten!
ReplyDeleteThat little cat is adorable! What a unique look. Makes me want to kiss its little head :)
DeleteP. S. Four feet tall cedars is a pretty decent size - especially when you're a shorty (like me), aren't you?? :D It's good to hear the company took care with their work.
ReplyDeleteThey are a good size to start with but because they are thinner the higher you go up, there is still little privacy for us. Too many gaps! But they will grow in time. At least we have started the process to shutting out the world. HAHA And yes, I'm below average in height with being 5'3" :)
DeleteYou must have fun finding these cartoons for us. They're much enjoyed.
ReplyDeleteI do! And there are so many good ones out there.
DeleteWe have had not too much luck with cedars......too much salty air maybe?
ReplyDeleteOne-eyed Bob!! lol (I think I get this one?)
It could be, Jim. There are plants that don't respond well to salty air. I'm not sure whether or not this affects cedars but it is possible.
DeleteThose are so funny! The kitten with the "bangs" is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI know! It is soooo cute.
DeleteThose British hats can be bizarre
ReplyDeleteThey sure can be!
DeleteBoom! That last one. In fact that last three had me laughing.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Martha.
A good week to you.
I'm glad you liked them, Robyn. Hope your week is going well!
DeletePoor Camilla ~ she gets no respect! LOL I hope that your cedars thrive in their new home. Have a great week, Martha!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA! You're right, Louise. Camilla seems to get little respect :)
DeleteMy first real laugh of the day! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome!
DeleteSo pleased that your trees have been planted … and so well :)
ReplyDeleteLoved all the funnies, the cat one was my favourite.
Enjoy your week.
All the best Jan
I'm glad you got a laugh out of them, Jan. Humour is good for our health!
DeletePS The cat haircut one!
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
I know. So cute. And funny!
DeleteThis is such a joy to hear that you trees are installed finally dear Martha!
ReplyDeletei bet your 4 feet high friends giving you a wonderful sense of privacy already :)
i hope weather gets more beautiful for you to enjoy more my friend
here we are enjoying almost 50 Celsius :(
loved the funnies ,specially the last one lol
more blessings to you
hugs!
Wow, that is hot, Baili! I don't know how you manage. I guess you're used to it. It is still somewhat cool here. No complaints from me. It's very comfortable weather and it'll give our little trees a chance to grow.
DeleteI hope you are dealing well. Hugs to you!
OMG...the pink hat and insulation. Spew alert for sure. Glad you got your trees planted, wish more folks would plant them. It's sure helps the environment.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA! Yes, definitely spew alert. That one had me laughing out loud. Some of the hats they were...they are just so funny to look at.
DeleteI totally agree with you, Sandy. I wish more people would plant trees. Very good for the environment. And for us! We're planning to add three to our property and in the fall the city will plant two outside of our property. It'll be our small contribution to this world!
