Happy new week, blogging pals! How are you all doing? How was the weekend? Did you do anything special? See anyone? Go anywhere? Watch anything? Inquiring minds want to know, so share, share, share below. Hey, that rhymed. Look at me, the poet. *snort*
I met up with three girlfriends yesterday in the small city of Vaudreuil, which is about a 40 minute drive from my home. I drove over in piss-pouring rain, which I wouldn't do for just anyone, but these women are very special to me. We all met before the age of 14, a few of us way before that and spent our entire teenage years hanging out together and having fun. And so many years later, we're still getting together. And it always amazes me how easy it is to be with people that you go way back with. You share something very special with them.
Today I'm at the food bank volunteering. Yes, I'm still there. Last month I celebrated one year with them. I don't have plans to stop any time soon. I'm really enjoying it there.
Now let's get to the funny stuff, which is why you're really here. Amiright? Yeah...
Have a good one, everyone!
Ha! Funny and seasonal. That witch's suspicions of her neighbor are right on the money, but I hadn't ever thought of the afterlife still involving bathroom breaks.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the food bank is ready for a lot of donations of leftover candy on Friday.....
I'm glad you enjoyed! I have a feeling there's no worry about bathroom breaks after we exit this world :)
DeleteAside from driving in heavy rain, it sounds like a good thing to get out and visit close friends. Love that. So funny with the comics. I snagged the Cookie Monster one to use. Thank you and boogie boogie.
ReplyDeleteDriving in that weather was not fun. But getting together with those friends was. So all in all a very good day. And hey, take any photos you'd like. I took them from somewhere else! :)
DeleteThanks, Martha.
DeleteI don't know if I told you but I jumped from Nikon DSLR to Canon Mirroless.
Oh my gosh. I love the Canon. Saving for my 100 mm L series, next.
It's a whole knew world with Canon.
Are you taking pictures these days?
How neat that you have friends you keep up with from your school days! Oh my gosh, these were all great Halloween laughs! Cooling off here, actually"cold" out today at 60 degrees this morning. Good for you for the volunteering at the food bank and your 1 year anniversary with it!

It's wonderful having those old friends. It's so easy to be with them!
DeleteLove.

I'm glad you enjoyed :)
Deleteagg great chuckles today - love them all - ...and you go along way back with those friends - how nice it must be. I don't have that in my life - i kind of wish I did but I lost touch with the few close ones I had or they passed away. That's great about the food bank.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed them, Sandy!
DeleteHalloween fun yesterday and the day before
ReplyDeleteHalloween fun is always great!
DeleteHa ha, you always find the best LOLs, Martha! Glad I can steal from you again! Kudos to you for your devotion to the Food Bank. That's an important service in every community.
ReplyDeleteSteal away, Debra. I do it shamelessly! LOL
DeleteMartha, thank you for once again providing us with laughs and humor. And good for you volunteering at your food bank. No one should go hungry. Food banks are a worthy cause. I read Art and Motorcycle Maintenance years ago and loved it. My philosopher friend used it as a text for his students.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right. No one should go hungry! Our local food bank works hard to make sure of that.
DeleteAll excellent funnies! I particularly like the sheet hitting the fan and the cookie monster :)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about old friends. They're so comfortable to be with.
Kudos to you on your work with the food bank. It's great when our wants match up with someone else's needs. That makes a perfect volunteer match.
I'm glad you liked them. It's fun being back and sharing this type of nonsense :)
DeleteThanks for the laughs! It's so great that you friends have kept in touch for so long.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteThat is so nice that you are still in touch with your friends from childhood. Great comics- especially the sheet hitting the fan :) Have a great week and a Happy Halloween! XO
ReplyDeleteI hope you've had a wonderful week! xo
DeleteLove all the Halloween themed funnies!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad!
DeleteI once chuckled because I saw people dancing and then fell into the fields, all of their bodies wet
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteI'm glad that you have friends that you've known forever, Martha! That is truly special! I don't know where your find these funnies, but they are priceless! Thanks for the laughs, and big hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteI nab them from pages all over the internet :) I'm glad you enjoy them!
DeleteNifty fall and Halloween comic ideals!
ReplyDelete__ Smiles; we see each end... as a merging step toward the new_!
ghosts fall
as leaves of trees
floating to our pathways
and rhyme with forward steps of life
new thoughts
That is really good! Thanks for sharing :)
DeleteHa ha ha ha ha...cookie monster! That really had me going lol! I've been Halloweening up my life lately! Two more days until the BIG DAY!!! So exciting! I'm carving pumpkins today, decorating and making lots of sweets and savoury food! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are the Halloween queen, Rain! So much fun at your place.
DeleteIt's always good meeting up with old friends.
ReplyDeleteGosh, it doesn't seem possible that you've been helping out at the Food Bank for a year! The months fly by!
… and as for this weeks Chuckles.
These are all so good Martha … and I'm still laughing :)
All the best Jan
Time goes by so quickly, Jan. I can't believe we're going to be celebrating Christmas next month. EEK!

i am glad you enjoying your time at place you work for free ,this is spiritual contentment we get from such privilege indeed
wishing you more and more endless happiness in life ahead my friend !
It was really special! They are such wonderful friends, so driving in the rain didn't bother me.
DeleteSo nice you got to meet with your old friends. I am remembering that you met one of our mutual blogging friends years ago, Jane. Do you remember? I miss her!Happy Halloween to you!🎃
ReplyDeleteI do remember! Jane just vanished :( I wish she'd make an appearance at some point.
DeleteHow nice to have such good friends. We all need those. Thanks for the laughs!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteI wish I could have photographed the jack-o-lanterns at work. Each team had one. I have no idea who decorated ours. They were adorable. I like the pumpkins that want to go to a good home. Everything is pumpkin spice at this time of year.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Oh, that would have been fun to see, Janie! Maybe next year :)
DeleteYour cartoon picks are hilarious as usual! Good to hear you were able to catch up with friends. Your description of the rain made me chuckle as we are having similar stuff here. Soon the roads will be covered with ice and I will just stay home until April!
ReplyDeleteHAHA! You and me both :) I'm not a fan of winter.
DeleteHow do you always manage to choose such great cartoons? Your funnies always make my day. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased! I really enjoy putting these together for everyone :)
