It's Monday! Happy last week of November, blogging friends. Can you believe it? This month is almost over. I don't know what happened! It just zipped right by. I'm okay with that because it's one step closer to the holidays and one month less of winter-type weather. As many of you know, spring is my favourite season and the faster we get there, the happier I'll be.
What's new with everyone? What are you up to? The most amazing man in the world and I are being lazy these days. We tend to slow down this time of year and take it easy. We are continuing to eat healthy and exercise, especially me, and the weight I lost way back is still off. In fact, I lost even more than I planned. I dropped 24 pounds instead of 10 and have maintained my new weight since then. What did I change? I eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, plenty of legumes, a lot less meat (about once a week or less) and much less bread. And on those rare moments when I do eat bread, I only eat the healthiest types. Sweets are far and few in between, and pasta is so rare you'd think it's a mythological creature. I don't miss any old habits, I've never felt better and the best thing of all is that I'm never hungry!
Okay, that's enough of boring you with my life. Let's get to why you're really here! Enjoy, and have an amazing day ahead.
Congrats on the healthy eating and weight loss! And thanks for the LOLs as usual -- my fave is the DiCaprio/DaVinci one!
ReplyDeleteThat one had me laughing out loud!
DeleteHa, those people are so uninformed. Leonardo was a Renaissance mutant ninja turtle, right?
ReplyDeleteLove the twin responses.
Losing weight is really difficult (as I know all too well). You should be proud of such progress, and it will pay good dividends, health-wise.
HAHAHA! I think he might have been :)
DeleteI am proud of my commitment. And definitely happy that this is good health-wise. I am feeling really great these days!
Yea on your great weight loss! It really is "simple" to do when one gets back to healthy eating which it sounds like you have been doing. I always say I love pasta, bread, and potatoes, but its pasta, bread and potatoes that made me overweight for so long. Now we have them occasionally but not as weekly staples and we are enjoying still our weight loss from last year :)
ReplyDeleteLOL with the twins one! Best one yet!
I was going to wish you Happy Thanksgiving, but then I realized you guys celebrated it earlier in Canada, so I'll wish you Happy Thursday for later this week :)
betty
It was a lot easier than I thought, Betty. Once I ditched all the unhealthy food and started eating real food, the weight started to drop regularly. And it didn't require much effort either. After so many months of living this way, I can't see myself ever going back. I just feel so good! I treat myself occasionally to foods that don't do me much good but the majority of the time, I eat healthy.
DeleteI hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving!
LOL people are so dumb hee hee! I love those silly phone funnies. Oh Martha congratulations on your weight loss and healthy food changes!!! That's great! I rarely eat meat these days but I am still very much into bread and cheese, so no weight loss 'round here! It's a very good month to be lazy. Christmas is a month away OMG!!!
ReplyDeleteI know, right? I can't believe we're already into another holiday season. It's crazy! It'll be 2020 soon :)
DeleteSeems like there should be some kind of apocalypse soon lol...
DeleteHAHAHA! No doubt someone will introduce the idea that one is coming :)
DeleteLove this latest round of funnies! Good for you for sticking to a diet and keeping your weight off.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed!
DeleteGo you, Martha.
ReplyDeleteYou know me, I only eat plants.
Sounds like they are helping you.
Wonderful news. Go plants!
Here's to having good energy,
good vibes and a
boogie boogie good winter.
Cheers and boogie boogie, baby.
I have never felt better, Wonder Woman! I've never been much of a meat eater, but in the past couple of years, I have eaten much less. And I don't miss or crave it! I'm feeling the best I've ever felt, so plant-based food seems to work great for me. Soooo loving it.
DeleteHope you and your honey bunny are having a groovy weekend!
Fantastic about the weight loss Martha, I am jealous. I would be happy with 5 pounds permanently. Well you shared the 'secret'. Thanks for the laughs.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed, Christine! I decided way back in February that I'd had enough of feeling sluggish. It was time for a change and a real commitment!
DeleteCats walk on food, dogs eat it.
ReplyDeleteHAHA! True. Although we do have a cat that behaves like a dog. She eats everything!
DeleteThanks for the laughs. You found some great cartoons this week.
ReplyDeleteAlways a pleasure!
DeleteCongratulations on the weight and health bit.I wish it was that easy for many more folks.
ReplyDeleteIt's not always easy for everyone. I'm thankful that I found something that works well for me!
DeleteHappy last week you too. Even I have also started losing my weight.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! Hope you continue to do well with the weight loss. Happy weekend!
Deletethat is so great you have lost the weight and kept it off. I wish I could stick to that healthy eating but ...i give in to temptation and love pastas although i a have salads three times a week for dinner and walk a whole lot up and down hills if not every day then three to four times a week and well i just don't lose much. Must be the sugar and the bread. Love the cartoons...and cat's paw in the turnovers, lol and falling asleep counting sheep!
ReplyDeleteSugar and bread are demons! But tasty ones :) HAHA
DeleteI'm glad you enjoyed the funny stuff!
Great funnies once more, Martha :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on such an amazing weight loss. I bet you find everything easier to do than it was before. I am trying very hard to lose weight and have succeeded in small measure. I'd love to eat more plants but have to be careful as I have IBS and too much fibre is a problem for me. Kudos to you, my friend!
Yes, everything is better. A more plant-based diet does wonders for me. Thankfully this style works and works well. I've never been much of a meat eater, so that was very easy to eliminate further. And I love fresh fruits and vegetables, which made it easy. But I totally get what you're saying. I have friends with IBS and it is much more complicated for them.
DeleteGood ones today Martha. Hope you and yours are well
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda! Hope you are well :)
DeleteWell done for losing weight. I lost about 8 pounds and then put it all back on again during my recent trip to the States. Sigh. Thanks for the funnies, loved them all!
ReplyDeleteIf you did it once, I bet you can do it again! :)
Deletewell i never get bored with stories of your life dear Martha :)
ReplyDeletewow you did amazing for loosing weight ,leaving or lessening bread and grains help a lot indeed ,your winters make life slow as summer do here ,yet there are so many indoor hobbies to pass these seasons as i know you read lots of books :)
haha i loved the funnies ,all of them but first and last made me laugh
blessings to you and family my friend!
I do try to find ways to keep busy indoors during the winter, mostly on days when it's much too cold to be outside. Books are definitely something I enjoy very much! I still wish we had shorter winters. It is not fun when it's cold and snowy for months on end.
DeleteThank you for the blessings. I wish the same to you and your family!
Counting sheep will do it! lol
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Martha, on losing some weight and cutting out those carbs. They are the culprits and what can lead to nasty things....diabetes and heart disease. I have cut out sweets since August. Went through sugar withdrawal for a bit. I learned from my father at an early age that SWEETS are GREAT! He ate them all his long life and didn't affect him at all. Go figure.
Have a great week.
I know, right? Carbs can bring on a whole slew of problems. And to be honest, they were making me feel really sluggish. Ever since I began increasing my consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables, I feel amazing! These habits are obviously doing wonders for me. And thankfully, I've never had much of a sweet tooth, so that is easy for me to avoid...phew! My father LOVED fruits, and thanks to him, that's where I got my sweet tooth fix! LOL
DeleteWay to go, Martha, on your weight loss and maintenance! That is not easy! We're definitely taking it slow today, because we're in the middle of a big snowstorm. I enjoyed all your funnies! they had me laughing from beginning to end.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed, Louise! It's that time of year when snowstorms come a knockin'!
DeleteCongrats on your weight loss! I know how hard it is to lose weight. I too have lost weight this year. 50 lbs. for me! My goal before the end of the year is 60, but I don't know how realistic that is with the holidays coming up. We'll see! Time will tell...
ReplyDelete50 lbs! That is awesome. Congratulations to you! Even if you don't hit the target because of the holiday season, I bet you'll get it done in 2020!
DeleteWell done on your weight loss Martha, a big smile from me :)
ReplyDeleteI think the whole year has gone by so quickly.
I have written a few Christmas Cards, and I've started on my present buying … so I'm happy about that.
Loved all the Chuckles, have a great week.
All the best Jan
Thank you, Jan! I'm pleased with the results.
DeleteYou are smart! I haven't started any type of holiday buying/planning/preparing!
Good for you for eating healthy and getting fit! Your posts are always so fun, I swear that cats should rule the world as people are just dumb!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA! Yes, I also think cats should rule the world :)
DeleteCongrats on the weight loss. Great comics- I like the kitty paw print that swears it wasn't him.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind words you left on my blog for the loss of KaTwo. XO
Aw, no need to thank me. I just wanted to offer some support. It's so hard to lose a fur baby xo
DeleteI find that it's best to ask the parents of twins if they've decided which one to keep yet.
