Hi, blogging pals! Happy June to all of you. Sorry I've been absent for this long. I've been dealing with a shitstorm over here with what should have been a trusted family member, and because it took me totally by surprise, I've been struggling to process it. I will say that the most amazing man in the world is also the most amazingly supportive. Now, let's leave it at that and move on. Because you all have your own problems to worry about.
How is everyone doing? What are you up to these days? We've done some outdoor work, some gardening and lots of indoor stuff. And walking. We always try to get out and walk. We've got a list of chores to complete, one of them being to paint our balcony. And because the gardening centres have opened up, we're planning to visit and pick up some plants, soil and whatever else is needed. In other words, we're trying to keep busy.
On Netflix, Blacklist is one of the series we're watching and I have to say that James Spader is a really good actor. We've also started Space Force and Dark, but I don't have an opinion yet since we're not far enough along.
I can't think of anything else, so let's get to the reason you're really here: the funny stuff! Enjoy and have a wonderful day.
Sorry to hear about your family issues, Martha. I hope things get better soon. Great lineup of LOLs as always!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debra! I'm glad you enjoyed the LOLs. Can't be without them :)
DeleteThanks for the good laughs Martha! Sorry about the family situation.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteUghh, sorry for whatever it is you've been going through. Great "funnies" though! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteAt least we have our humour! :)
DeleteSorry about family. Hard when that happens. Good you are getting out and working on projects.
ReplyDeleteLol with all your chuckles! Definitely need them here this morning!
Betty
It's always great to laugh, Betty. Keeping very busy here. At least we have some really nice weather now.
DeleteMartha, thanks for the laughs. Got a kick out of your first cartoon, and the weather report for 2 pm.
ReplyDeleteAlways a pleasure!
DeleteThe real reason we're here is not for the funnies, just so you know! We like to be in touch with our bloggy friends and know they are okay. So I'm sorry to hear about the problems and hope they subside soon. Family issues are tough. It's good to have a partner who is supportive.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the funnies ARE great, so thank you for those. Love the public transport and the weather forecast - hah!
You really are keeping busy - that's the best way. Happy planting/transplanting!
Aww, you are very kind! Thank you for that. Yes, we do like to be in touch with our bloggy friends and offer support when needed. It's a wonderful community. That's why I stick around even though I seem to have run out of things to say!
DeleteSorry you are having family issues to deal with. I need to get stuff the garden and paint etc. but I just don't fancy queuing up for 2 hours to get into a store.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the weekly laughs!
Visiting stores can be quite exhausting. We try to go during hours when it's not too busy but sometimes everyone has the same idea :)
DeleteSpace Force does look promising
ReplyDeleteIt really does. We haven't gone far enough with it yet because we're watching other shows right now, but we'll get more and more into it.
DeleteOh those 'surprise family issues'! Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteHm-m-m....never thought to get better reception in the bathroom! lol
Have a good week.
Hope you've had a great week, Jim!
DeleteOh....just realized there's another way to 'get' this one......subway travel. There ya go! lol
ReplyDeleteYes, that's it! LOL I traveled to work on the subway when I was living in Montreal but I didn't use any tech products. My nose was always in a book :)
DeleteSorry about the family member giving you grief. We love The Blacklist and have watched since the beginning. He is an amazing actor. He was really good in Boston Legal too. I may sign up for Netflix again so we can watch Space Force. Great funnies. Have a wonderful week! XO
ReplyDeleteHe is an amazing actor! The more we watch, the more I see that. I think he actually keeps the show interesting. I'll have to check out Boston Legal and also check what other shows he's been in, movies, too.
DeleteI remember when newspapers used to pile up like that in my childhood home. Every month, we bagged them for the school paper drive.
ReplyDeleteHope that crazy family member has calmed down and stopped being a nuisance.
Ah, those days! So many people had newspapers delivered. Now it's very rare.
DeleteI am sorry about your family issues, I hope you have a good resolution. Your gardening and painting sound promising. Love the social distancing shoes!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Hanging in there. And keeping busy!
Deletewow fun to see these funnies . I've missed them. Sometimes I copy and share with my sister because I'm too lazy to search out any of my own. oh yeah...i get the family drama - we all have it in some form or another. Feel for you for sure and so nice to have a support system like you do. We actually painted all our decks ...the deck part not the railing which has to be done to match the house. The inside of all the railings on the deck where the snow would pile up and then freeze and then melt and take the cheap paint off with it ...even though we are renting, we are going to paint them since we did the deck. Our landlords haven't raised our rent in 7 years except 50 dollars and we have a good deal here since in California rents have gone sky high since we first got this place. We figure we can fix things up ourself for the most part. So it's fun huh...getting things done and it feels good.
ReplyDeleteWe enjoy doing the work ourselves. It sure saves a lot of money! But I honestly hope to one day be done with home ownership. I wouldn't mind just renting a little place and not having to worry about taking care of a house. But the rents are so expensive nowadays!
Deletehaven't watched any of those shows but i'll put them on my list and check them out later. I did see a few episodes a long time ago of Blacklist and thought i would go back but forgot.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good show. James Spader actually keeps it interesting.
DeleteThank you for making me smile this morning.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteSo sorry to read that you've been dealing with family issues.
ReplyDeleteLife here goes quietly on and we have our regular family Skype sessions … but I am so looking forward to when we can get together again :)
Love the funnies, especially the shoe distancing one.
Keep well, my good wishes.
All the best Jan
You and me both, Jan! Nothing like getting together in person with the people we love.
DeleteHi MArtha...hugs to you and your family...💞
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda! I hope all is well :)
DeleteI'm sorry that you have been dealing with family issues, Martha. I hope that the nasty crosscurrents calm permanently. It's wonderful to have a supportive spouse. Thanks for the laughs. These definitely buoyed me up. Take care, my friend
ReplyDeleteThanks for the support! These things happen. I'm keeping busy with other things in my life to keep myself centered. Life is too short for drama.
DeleteOh lol for King Richard hee hee...nice to read the funnies. Martha, I'm sorry to hear about your shitstorm, if you want an ear, send me an email. I'm here for you my friend! xxx I hope you get some nice plants at the garden center! Gardening is great all around therapy! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rain! I may take you up on the offer one of these days. I'd rather wait a bit and let you settle into your home. You've got a ton of stuff that needs tending to. My situation is not urgent. I'll just vent...LOL
Deletei come for you dear Martha just because i simply follow my intuition :)
ReplyDeletewe are friends though may be we never meet in life still i believe in words you write and emotions you share ,i feel trusted and accepted as human and that is all matter
