Chuckles and Chortles

Happy new week, blogging friends! How is everyone? What's new with you? Did you have a nice week and weekend? Mine was quite busy. The most amazing man in the world and I have been taking care of stuff around the house and also finding time to go for long walks. And yesterday morning, I met up with a friend to do some biking. Was that ever fun! We rode side by side on one of the nature trails and not only enjoyed the scenery but also each other's company. We'll definitely be doing this again.

Saturday I stopped by one of the garden centers, a trip that I started off excited about only to end up disappointed once I got there. The selection was poor, the prices were too high and the plants were dying of thirst. I did manage to find one perennial worth salvaging and brought the poor thing home. It will be well-loved in my garden.

Thank you for all your supportive comments last week. You all rock!

Now here are a few images to make you smile. Enjoy, and have beautiful day.

    1. It's a lot of fun biking that way. At least we can see friends without going into each other's house. For now.

  3. Glad you are getting out a bit more Martha, I will postpone my upcoming dental appointment for next week if they happen to open, and am not sure about going to sit down restaurants for the time being, as they are about to open up. Thanks for the laughs!

    1. I totally get that, Christine. I think I'm going to wait a bit before I go to all these places that have opened up. I want to see what happens with the number of cases that will surely show up.

  15. Hello there YOU ! LOL
I am glad you rescued a plant and that it will have an excellent home .. this year has been terrible for finding any decent plants, but it all falls back on the COVID crises .. so it isn't really the fault of the garden centers .. we can blame the virus for that ? .. I am sorry about what ever shit storm you had to go through .. we had talked about previous events like that before years ago .. it is especially poisonous when it totally unexpected .. you sound better though, so I hope the shock has passed and you have worked though it .. stay happy and at peace ;-)

    1. Hey, Joy! Yup, I totally agree. It's definitely the COVID's fault. I'm just happy to have found a few things to add for now. I remember those talks, dear friend! I am in a much better place now. We just have to accept things and move on. Be well and safe!

  17. I love that you were able to have some fun and stay safe at the same time. It always blows my mind how much some places want for plants. Nuts. And I heard from the worker at one store, at the end of seed season, the seeds get trashed. Why? Why not just make them less expensive? I don't get it. I'm thinking there is a reason they do it that way but my goodness. What a waste.

    1. I know, right? Why not discount them. Or better yet, just give them away if you're planning to trash them! People can put them to good use. How awful...

  18. Haha thanks for all the funnies again. I haven't made it to the garden centre yet, I'm waiting for the queues to die down, but I'm wondering if there will be anything left to buy when I do!

    1. If your garden centers are anything like ours, there isn't much to choose from this year. The selection is pretty poor, and I'm guessing it's all because of the pandemic!
