Chuckles and Chortles

Hey, blogging pals! How are you all doing? Happy Monday to you. I hope you're all keeping well these days. We've been trying to make the most of the cold and rainy days we've had in the past week. Bleh... This is the type of autumn weather that I don't like. The dampness gets right into your bones.

Instead of throwing myself a pity party, I used the time to continue stocking up our freezer with soups. One of them was a delicious vegetable soup packed with all kinds of goodness in it. It turned out even better than I'd hoped. And it sure beats those canned versions where you get some noodles and a vegetable here and there. This homemade one is a meal in itself. Anyhow, here is the link for those who want to try it out: Alphabet Vegetable Soup

We finished watching Murdoch Mysteries and that's a bummer. We really enjoyed the series and we're hoping for more episodes in the future. And now we're zipping through the latest seasons of The Alienist, The Good Place and Schitt's Creek. Have you watched any of these? What are you into these days?

Not much else to share right now, so let's get to the funny stuff. I hope they make you laugh. Have an amazing day!

I don't chance it. I hand wash them.

Chuckles and Chortles

And here we are again! Happy new week, blogging pals. How is everyone? How was your weekend? What have you been up to? Are you keeping busy? Watching anything interesting? Maybe learning something new? Share, share, share below in the comments.

We're continuing to enjoy our evening walks whenever possible. The weather has been up and down and we've had occasional rain. But all in all, it hasn't been a bad autumn so far. Fingers crossed that we don't see snow for quite some time. My weekend was busy with kitchen duty. I filled up our freezer with ready-to-use chopped carrots, onions, and cubes of lemon and garlic for upcoming recipes. And I also made a large batch of the most amazing cauliflower soup. Here's a link to the recipe for anyone interested: Melancauli Baby

As for what we're watching, we've been really enjoying Murdoch Mysteries on Netflix. It took some time to decide whether we'd get into this series, and when we finally started, I wondered why we waited so long! It is such an enjoyable show. Anyone else seen this?

Well, nothing else to add at this point, so may as well get to the funny stuff. Most of it is dark humour but that's to be expected with Halloween coming up. Enjoy and have a wonderful week!

BBQ FOR ME!

Chuckles and Chortles

Happy new week, everyone! And Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians. I hope you've all been enjoying a lovely weekend; a long one for some of us. We've been blessed with some really lovely weather the past few days and today is no different. It's a little on the cool side but wonderfully sunny. At night it gets very cold and we've had to turn on the heat to get rid of the chill and the dampness, but during the day it is spectacular. The most amazing man in the world and I have been bundling up in the evening to take long walks after supper. Is it ever enjoyable! That crisp air is so refreshing and invigorating.

There isn't all that much going on. We've been sticking close to home because the two major cities nearby have had a large increase in COVID cases, which has led to more restrictions. So no visiting anyone we know there or driving into those areas to spend the day. That will just have to wait.

That's it for now. I wish you all a wonderful day and a terrific week ahead. Enjoy the humour below!

(Oh, I also wanted to mention that for a few days last week, I had trouble leaving comments on some of your blogs. Did anyone else experience this? It seems to be okay now.)

Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday, my blogging pals! I'm finally back. And I have missed you all terribly! I will confess that I have been secretly visiting all your blogs and keeping up to date with what's been going on in your part of the world. Some of you have dealt or are dealing with difficult times and I'm so sorry that you are. Sending you lots of hugs. I'll stop by later to visit all your blogs and leave a comment.

So what's been going on over here? Well, the worst thing was my father-in-law's passing in August from COVID. At the age of 93 and in a weakened state, we knew that the chances of him surviving were very minimal. The saddest thing was that he died alone in the hospital since he had to be isolated and visitors were not permitted. It was very difficult on the family.

The summer zipped right by. I did some gardening but not as much as I'd hoped to. The most amazing man in the world and I took a lot of walks and kept as busy as we can. I got together each week with a friend that lives nearby and we took lengthy walks and had coffee dates on her deck. We visited my daughter in Ottawa a couple of times, and she and her boyfriend drove down to our place other times, as well. Other than that, it was one of the quietest summers we've ever had. With everyone else I know, it was either video chats, phone calls, text messages, messenger contacting, etc. COVID has really dominated 2020.

I'll write more in future posts and I invite you to share your own news in the comments below. And now, let's get to the funny stuff! Enjoy, and have a wonderful day ahead.
