And here we are again! Happy new week, blogging pals. How is everyone? How was your weekend? What have you been up to? Are you keeping busy? Watching anything interesting? Maybe learning something new? Share, share, share below in the comments.
We're continuing to enjoy our evening walks whenever possible. The weather has been up and down and we've had occasional rain. But all in all, it hasn't been a bad autumn so far. Fingers crossed that we don't see snow for quite some time. My weekend was busy with kitchen duty. I filled up our freezer with ready-to-use chopped carrots, onions, and cubes of lemon and garlic for upcoming recipes. And I also made a large batch of the most amazing cauliflower soup. Here's a link to the recipe for anyone interested: Melancauli Baby
As for what we're watching, we've been really enjoying Murdoch Mysteries on Netflix. It took some time to decide whether we'd get into this series, and when we finally started, I wondered why we waited so long! It is such an enjoyable show. Anyone else seen this?
Well, nothing else to add at this point, so may as well get to the funny stuff. Most of it is dark humour but that's to be expected with Halloween coming up. Enjoy and have a wonderful week!

BBQ FOR ME! |
I was amused by the cat pattern pictures from the Feline Edition ..., how cute.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Indonesia.
It is quite amusing, for sure. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteHot pizza in the mouth isn't a pleasant experience! Thanks for the funnies. Yes snow on top of everything else this year won't be fun. We didn't have any last winter so I'm hoping for the same this year!
ReplyDeleteNo chance of us not having any snow at all. Life in Canada... I've had that experience with pizza. It is horrible!
DeleteMy fave is "hang out w/ Satan," LOL! My Rare One and I love Murdock Mysteries too! We've been watching it on CBC ever since it started umpteen million seasons ago! My Rare One has a crush on George Crabtree.
ReplyDeleteI love the "hang out with Satan!" HAHA Says quite a bit about me :) George Crabtree is my favourite character on the show. I really enjoy his quirky personality and the ideas he comes up with.
DeleteWe are Murdoch fans, always waiting for a new series.
ReplyDeleteI hope they continue production on this show. It is really good!
DeleteInteresting post!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!
DeleteThanks for the recipe and the seasonal laughs! I really miss shopping, I have some rebates to use up. I was just starting to socialize a bit and now we are bAck to phase 2.
ReplyDeleteI hear you, Christine. I miss so many things. Life is so different now.
DeleteSo, for cats, quarantine is pretty much like any other time?
ReplyDeleteDunno about Doritos, but the people who believe the "government putting chips in people" thing are probably eating paint chips.
It's probably time to Satanize the house again. Sanitizing is too much work.
HAHAHA! Yes, they are probably eating paint chips :) I personally know people who believe this nonsense.
DeleteHa ha - I want one of those huge skeletons but His Lordship watches the account far to closely for that!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA! And it's not something you can just sneak in :)
DeleteThanks for the laughs, Martha. I can relate to the too hot pizza rolls.
ReplyDeleteAlways a pleasure!
DeleteThis Covid is not going away is it.
ReplyDeleteHere in the UK we have different levels of restrictions, and it can get confusing!
Eddie and I just tend to go out locally and enjoy Autumnal walks, we do like this time of year.
Keeping fingers crossed that we can see the grandchildren next week as it's half term holiday.
In the meantime, many thanks for these laughs, they were all good, but my favourite is the second one.
Enjoy your week.
Stay safe and well.
All the best Jan
I don't think this will be going away any time soon, unfortunately. Life has really changed around the world. We live in a small city and the cases are minimal, but we do have restrictions and guidelines. We live within an hour of two major cities, so if we ever have a big outbreak, it may be brought back from someone visiting there, or be brought from someone visiting here.
DeleteThank you for the recipe link. I love soups. I just checked out what Murdoch Mysteries are about and we may give it a try when we finish the Dexter series. Great bunch of funnies, especially the giant skeleton. I would do the same, but not quite as costly. :) Have a nice week ! XO
ReplyDeleteI think you'll really enjoy Murdoch Mysteries. Such a fun show! And I would watch Dexter but I don't see it offered on Netflix in Canada. My daughters used to really enjoy it and I'm curious if I would, too.
DeleteThat looks like a 10' skeleton. $300 would be a deal.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he'll go on sale after Halloween :)
DeleteWe were on a roll for September. We had no rain or nasty weather. I walked every evening except one when I had a meeting.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that this year the nice weather extends quite far into autumn, especially with the pandemic going on. As long as we're able to get outside, it's good!
DeleteI know that recipe!! I've made it and it's soooo good. How ridiculously excited was I when I read that - is it from Loony Spoons or Crazy Plates, or the other one that I can't remember the name of? Funny satan stuff, Martha! Hope you have a good week. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteI know those cookbooks! When those sisters released their first one, I was working with an uncle of theirs and he brought free copies for everyone to the office. Fun times!
DeleteI love all the "Satan" funnies. I haven't seen the Murdoch Mysteries. I'll be sure to save it to my list. Thanks for the recommendation. We had a quiet weekend, which was nice.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
And I hope you had a really nice week, Janie! Our week was mostly rain, so we've been stuck indoors!
DeleteI like the chip one the best :) Potato chips for me :)
ReplyDeletebetty
HAHA! And there are so many to choose from :)
Deletehaha the chips one is too funny i know few who would say this with different names of chips haha
ReplyDeleteOh your stock for upcoming recipes sound mouthwatering and everything that i too love ,never tried soup with cauliflower though but it is my favorite vegetable that we find in winters
i did not encounter with show you mentioned ,we are watching Locked up it is interesting one
wishing all the joy and peace to you and your's dear Martha!
Lots of cauliflower around here right now. And apples, too! We had a lot of rain this week, so I stocked up our freezer with soups. Something to keep me busy. I hope you had a lovely week!
DeleteBeen keeping busy in garden lately since the mosquitoes have disappeared. Also walking twice a day to keep that blood flowing.
ReplyDeleteWe could all learn from the guaranteed cat, eh?
Yes, gotta keep that blood flowing! Our weather this week wasn't very nice, so walks have been minimal. I'm hoping for betters days ahead.
Deleteahh, almost let this get by me...i'm not use to Mondays over here, lol. Loved all the funnies - Favorite halloween movie was Halloween with Jamie Lee Curtis. Glad u can get out and walk and I agree with you - hold back on the snow. Mike does the same thing - cut up a lot of veggies and stuff for future use and freeze them. He just did that awhile back. I will check out Murdock Mysteries - thanks for the recommendation.
ReplyDeleteI find it so much easier to get meals ready when the prep work is done in advance. So I stop up the freezer with all of that! No snow around here but lots of rain lately. And the temperature has taken a dive. I like autumn when the weather is nice, so we can walk comfortably. This week hasn't been like that!
DeleteI'm happy to see your Monday funnies have returned!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda!
DeleteHa ha ha ha pizza rolls. Love it! :) The Doritos one really got me laughing! Life here is super busy Martha...I can't get ahead, so I'm slowing down as much as I can. We have a carpenter supposedly coming today to give us an estimate on putting a trap door in the house so we can access the basement without going outside. And we are still living in boxes, but I'm frikkin happy and excited about Halloween and Samhain!
ReplyDeleteOur first year here was crazy busy, so I'm not surprised at your pace. It takes time to get caught up on all the work that needs to get done on a home. We're over three years in and we're still not there yet. And with homes, there's always something to do. But you are finally living in a way that brings you joy! So pleased for you :)

Hey Martha, thanks for the LOL posts. Always fun to see what you've been up to. I am really like the character in the first comic! Take care and satanize frequently!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laughs, Martha, and the cauliflower soup recipe. I have to try it! Take care!
