Hey, blogging pals! How are you all doing? Happy Monday to you. I hope you're all keeping well these days. We've been trying to make the most of the cold and rainy days we've had in the past week. Bleh... This is the type of autumn weather that I don't like. The dampness gets right into your bones.
Instead of throwing myself a pity party, I used the time to continue stocking up our freezer with soups. One of them was a delicious vegetable soup packed with all kinds of goodness in it. It turned out even better than I'd hoped. And it sure beats those canned versions where you get some noodles and a vegetable here and there. This homemade one is a meal in itself. Anyhow, here is the link for those who want to try it out: Alphabet Vegetable Soup
We finished watching Murdoch Mysteries and that's a bummer. We really enjoyed the series and we're hoping for more episodes in the future. And now we're zipping through the latest seasons of The Alienist, The Good Place and Schitt's Creek. Have you watched any of these? What are you into these days?
Not much else to share right now, so let's get to the funny stuff. I hope they make you laugh. Have an amazing day!

I don't chance it. I hand wash them. |
Lots of chuckles today...Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteThanks, e. I hope your week is going well!
DeleteThat last one is super - I might have to borrow that.
ReplyDeleteBorrow away! I always do :)
DeleteThanks for the laughs! So true on the danpness getting into your bones, well said. Will check out the recipe thanks.
ReplyDeleteOh I have tried this one, made it twice already!
DeleteIt's a good one, isn't it? It's now a favourite in our home.
DeleteYou've outdone yourself as always in the LOLs Department!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debra. I'm glad you enjoy them!
DeleteWe can all use a good laugh these days. Keeping your cat from escaping when Amazon delivers a package made me laugh out loud.
ReplyDeleteThat one had me laughing out loud, too!
DeleteA good laugh a big blessing in these times.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is, Debby! We can use all the laughs we can get these days.
DeleteI am sure your soup has less sodium than canned too. We watched the entire series of The Good Place and we started Schitt's Creek, we need to get back to it. Love the cat funnies. :) And the aliens. Have a nice week and a Happy Halloween! XO
ReplyDeleteOh yes, my soup has far less sodium! We just wrapped up The Good Place and Schitt's Creek. They were both very enjoyable. I hope your week has been going well! xo
DeleteVery good, Martha! This was an especially funny bunch! Enjoy your week -Jenn
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jenn! Happy rest of the week to you.
DeleteLoved the Mona Lisa one the best!! Hope you get some more pleasant fall weather and the rain goes away soon!
ReplyDeletebetty
Thanks, Betty! I hope so.
DeleteThanks for the chuckles and chortles, Martha! Your soup recipe looks delicious. It has been cold and snowy here, so I made a big pot of homemade soup for supper. I don't really have a recipe. It depends on what I have on hand. Today I used kidney beans, wheat berries, diced tomatoes, carrots, peas, and leftover diced pork tenderloin, homemade chicken broth, and a half cup of white wine for good measure. Soup is so good on a winter night! Have a great week~
ReplyDeleteYour soup sounds so delicious, Louise! I often do the same - just use what I have on hand and create my own recipe. It's a great way to use up food so it doesn't go to waste. Hope you've been have a lovely week!
DeleteEven cats RAGE!! lol
ReplyDeleteMust get back into soup making.......thanks for the inspiration, Martha.
Have a great week. I hear you about the dark gloomy weather....
HAHA! Yes, even cats rage, it seems. This time of year, I really appreciate some good soup.
DeleteHa, ha love the "Amazon package statue."
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed!
Deletewow love all the funnies - they're great and so clever. I think i'll put Murdock Mysteries on my list. I LOVED Schitt's creek, haven't seen the alienist. I don't know why, maybe I had other things going but I just haven't been able to get into the Good Place. I am so so ashamed to say I loved Shameless, lololol..raunchy etc...way too much sex scenes which gets so boring after awhile but Frank's antics and the kids... always kept me coming back to see what was happening next. I love Call the Midwife - I chew threw those scenes quickly whenever a new season is dropped. It is on my top 10 favorites of all times series. Downtown Abby, Dexter, Call the Midwife, Longmire, Reign, Offspring, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Better call Saul... oh there's so many swirling around in my mind I can't catch anymore to pin them down. Am in the midst of "Divorce" at HBO, which we just got rid of Starrz and got HBO. Oh and can't forget Outlander another big favorite. We had cold, windy as heck, power loss yesterday for several hours. It gets to me when I can't get out and about. I"m not good at being housebound. Your soup sounds really good. thanks for the link
ReplyDeleteWe really enjoyed Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul! We just zipped right through those two. Unfortunately, we don't get all the series in Canada on Netflix. At least not on what we're subscribed to. Perhaps there's a premium level? I dunno. But we're satisfied with the choices we have.
DeleteThank you so much for your posts. They are always wonderfully entertaining. As a cat family those are especially enjoyed. I love the Mona Lisa the most.
ReplyDeleteIf you can get ACORN tv they offer every season of Murdoch Mysteries from the beginning. I've started from the first, ?13 seasons now. Another favorite is Agatha Raison, very funny at times.
I'm glad you enjoyed! We all need humour in our lives. We just wrapped up Murdoch Mysteries. Netflix had all 13 seasons available. I believe there will be more in the future...but I have a feeling it'll be a while before we see any!
DeleteThat Mona Lisa one is really funny.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see you again, Martha.
Have a fun Halloween week.
I'm glad you enjoyed, Robyn. Hope you are doing well!
Deletemy son from Germany complained about the nonstop rains like you dear Martha ,he misses sun :)
ReplyDeleteyour soup collection sounds so delicious ,this is wise of you to store for cold rush hours :) must be yummy!
enjoyed the funnies as always haha the Mona Lisa made me laugh and the puzzle haha now that is self confidence haha
more blessings to you and your's !
The days are much more depressing when the sun is missing. I like bright days with nice weather. Makes me feel more energetic. Our freezer is always stocked with a variety of soups. They make for a light meal along with a sandwich.
DeleteOh I want a nun to clutch her rosary when I walk by lol! ;) Those are great!!!!
ReplyDeleteMe, too, Rain! LOL Maybe I already have that effect :)
DeleteThis time of year is just perfect for soup isn't it.
ReplyDeleteLots of good chuckles here, thanks Martha.
All the best Jan
Indeed, Jan! This time of year is great for soups. Hope you've been enjoying a lovely week.
