Happy Monday, my friends! How is everyone doing? We are just taking it day by day and trying to get through this pandemic as best as we can. Our weather has shifted and it's not all warm and fuzzy anymore. Today it's cold and rainy and damp. Bleh. Tomorrow we might even get a few flurries of snow coming our way. I'm just not ready for that!
Saturday morning I met up with the friend that I go walking with. We only hooked up for an hour this time. It was cold and humid and windy, which made it uncomfortable. I was dressed very warm and could have continued, but she wasn't, so we cut it short. We'll see what happens this coming weekend. We're trying to do this each week as long as the weather cooperates.
What are we watching? I'm glad you asked. Right now we're enjoying season 4 of The Crown. Love that series! We're also ever so slowly trying to wrap up Away. It's listed as a science fiction drama but after a couple of episodes, the most amazing man in the world and I realized that there's barely any science fiction in it. It feels more like a soap opera. Not sure we'll even finish this one. What we did finish and really enjoyed is the movie BlackKklansman. Set in the 1970s, it's based on the true story of the first African-American detective in Colorado Springs who sets out to infiltrate and expose the local Ku Klux Klan chapter.
We're also done with The Trial of the Chicago 7, which I highly recommend! The whole story is quite shocking! Another one that is quite alarming that we zipped through last week is the true crime documentary Trial 4. It's the story of Sean K. Ellis who fights to prove his innocence after being charged as a teenager in the 1993 killing of a Boston police officer. And while he's doing that, police corruption and systemic racism is being exposed. It was extremely difficult to watch but very important. I can't recommend this enough. And while I'm at it, I will recommend this link for those who can't seem to - or are unwilling to - comprehend what the phrase "black lives matter" means: Why you should stop saying “all lives matter,” explained in 9 different ways.
This has become quite long, so I'll end it here. Enjoy all the funny stuff below and have yourselves a wonderful week ahead! And don't forget to share what's going on with you in the comments.
LOL with the one with the box :) All great cartoons Martha!! Haven't watched much on Netflix these days; still trying to finish 13 Reasons Why Season 4.
ReplyDeletebetty
I've read the books for 12 Reasons... But I haven't really taken an interest in the series. At least not yet. But I might look into it now that you've reminded me about it.
DeleteYep it is cold today! We have to hunker down and not gain weight. Thanks for the chuckles! We found Aquaman on Netflix so will watch that.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are keeping warm, Christine! Our weather is now getting colder. Not as much fun anymore to walk!
DeleteMartha, you have posted a great collection today. We can all use the encouragement from the box. I lived through the nonsense trial of the Chicago 7.
ReplyDeleteI'm pleased you enjoyed them! Encouragement is exactly what's needed these days.
DeleteGlad you were able to walk with a friend. Sounds like you got a lot of watching done. We have finally got to see some new episodes of shows we like. Great collection of funnies- so true about cats. Have a wonderful week- hopefully without snow. XO
ReplyDeleteNo snow...yet! I would prefer it didn't come yet. I hope you're enjoying a lovely weekend. xo
DeleteGreat candle. I need one of those.
ReplyDeleteI'd snatch one up if I ran across it!
DeleteThanks for the smiles, Martha. You always find the good ones!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some more autumn before actual winter hits :)
You're welcome! I enjoy hunting down silly stuff to share with all of you. We could all use the humour!
DeleteEvery LOL is a gem! We enjoyed "The Black Klansman" too. Right now, we're watching the Indigenous Canadian TV series "Trickster" on CBC Gem -- highly recommended!

DeleteGreat wallpaper of China!
ReplyDeleteRight? So funny!
DeleteThanks for the Monday smiles! With this crazy world, we can use them!
ReplyDeleteI know, right? Thank goodness for humour.
DeleteGood that you are disciplining yourself to walk regularly. It makes it easier to go out.
ReplyDeleteVery true! We will walk whenever we can, for as long as we can.
Deletebest of luck with walking with friend dear Martha ,i feel for you whenever weather disturbs you ,i hope it continues to cooperate and you can keep enjoying your outing with friends and family
ReplyDeletewe are watching forth season of Queen of the south ,along with this new season of Undercover is also going good ,
saw a drama series Roots when i was young it was about how people of color were mistreated in past specially slavery system .i don't think i will ever get such brave to watch such thing again,i believe that reason behind all restlessness within the world is one and only and that is "Injustice "
once we will understand this and will agree to change the scenario things will get smooth automatically
blessings to you and family my friend ,i enjoyed the funnies so much :)
Very well said, Baili. Thanks for sharing your views. The world does seem unbalanced right now. But I have faith that it will all work out. It has to!
DeleteGood post. Check out the book and movie Just Mercy if you haven't and thanks for the link.
ReplyDeleteI will check it out. Thanks!
DeleteI have been getting dizzy from shaking my head these past 4 years in disbelief!! lol Hopefully soon that will all end and I will be more 'steady'!
ReplyDeleteI hear ya, Jim! I've been doing the same thing. Fingers crossed we stop doing this soon. One can certainly hope! LOL
Deleteahh I enjoyed the funnies and hope the snow is light and melts quickly ... We have one more day of warmer temps and then we begin to get wind as the jet stream changes and brings in colder temps but i don't think snow... which is going to hit more in northern california. So good weather through Thanksgiving week although chilly.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed, Sandy! Our weather has turned cold. It's to be expected up here in the north.
DeleteBeautiful, interesting and fun post. Much needed. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteAnother good collection here, my favourite is the Great wallpaper of China :)
ReplyDeleteHope you've had a good week, we've only had one day of sunshine so far, but we have done some local walks so that's been good.
Take care, my good wishes.
All the best Jan
I'm glad you enjoyed! And all the best to you, as well.
