Happy new week, everyone! How is everyone doing? What are you up to? What's new? What's keeping you busy? What's going on? Not much to blab about on our end but I am happy to report that my back pain is gone. I am feeling much better!
As soon as my sorry carcass wasn't an issue anymore, I dragged out my new Crock-Pot Express Crock Multi-Cooker (a mouthful) that we'd picked up right before my aches and pains began, and put it to use. We picked it up at an amazing price when we were out shopping for a few things. I hemmed and hawed about getting it to replace our slow cooker that recently died but finally decided to go ahead. I'm so pleased I did. What a machine! It does everything but sing and dance. Does anyone have one of these machines?
This week we've only focused on watching This Is Us on Netflix. We've been really enjoying it. It's emotionally heavy but in a good way. And the acting is terrific. A couple of days ago I noticed the series The Surgeon's Cut that profiles four ground-breaking surgeons from around the world, so I think we'll start that way soon. I'm curious to see what it's all about.
And that's it for now, blogging pals. Now let's get to the funny stuff. Have an amazing week ahead!
"Turn it off, honey" HAHAHAHAHA!
ReplyDeleteRight? HAHA
DeleteI love that doggie one! I have a crockpot but your new one sounds fancy!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great little machine! Certainly a step up from the slow cooker I had. I'm so pleased with this new one!
DeleteMartha, fine Christmas chuckles today. Had to laugh at the coal for Christmas, and the Santa checking the wine list.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed! We need to laugh these days.
DeleteFor some blogger reason the images didn't show up on my PC. But I beat the problem by right clicking on the 'broken image' icon and clicking on 'open image in new tab'.
ReplyDeleteI posted this joke on Saturday... For anyone else that's getting coal for Christmas, maybe we can link up and get a grill going.
There should be about 74+ million people getting coal this year.
HAHAHA! Yes, there'll be lots getting coal this year. Getting a grill going sounds great! I'm in.
DeleteWe have a pressure-slow cooker. It's great! I just need to use it more.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the best way to clean up the flavors left over from a past recipe?
Maybe I should take apart the cover but I'm afraid I won't be able to put it back together.
Anyway, once the next recipe is cooking the old scents of garlic, etc. fade away.
At least on mine the silicone gasket is removable...I find this is where a lot of the 'old tastes' live. You just have to kind of 'turn it inside out' to roll it off the wire bracket holding it in place. Putting it back on is easier.
DeleteIt's kind of tough to dance around covid and look after the basics. However, I'm happy. I feel badly for those who find themselves depressed.
ReplyDeleteIt's a tough year for many. The holidays will certainly be different this year.
DeleteThe pictures are back for me! Way to go Blogger whatever you did.
ReplyDeleteGoogle was down for a while earlier this week and that might have been the problem.
DeleteI really like the last one! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed!
DeleteGlad your back pain is gone. I love This Is Us, it is so well written and acted. Love the one with the dog putting a wreath on the doggy door. Have a great week! XO
ReplyDeleteIt is a really good series. I'm glad we finally decided to watch it. I hope you had a good week! xo
DeleteOh, poor Santa!! Good thing he isn't inside!! lol
ReplyDeleteI know, right? LOL
DeleteYou got me chuckling this morn, Martha. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteIf Santa thinks he hasn't already been getting the finger, he best think again. (Maybe not in Canada, though.)
You're welcome! Maybe Santa will consider just staying home this year :)
DeleteI like that naughty little girl arsonist. So glad your back pain is gone. I have the same slow cooker I've had for years--nothing fancy. Not much going on around here.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
With this pandemic, "not much going on around here" is my motto these days. :)
Deletei love the funnies - ....and the guy sitting across the table irritating his wife with his rhymes...all of them are funny. Glad your back pain is better. That multicooker thing - I've heard and read about them but we haven't gotten one.
ReplyDeleteWe wouldn't have picked up this cooker if my slow cooker hadn't died. Not I'm glad it did because this one is so much better!
DeleteHaha loved the funnies, and I'm glad you are feeling better!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed!
DeleteLol we got that exact model of cooker when OUR (ancient ) crock-pot died. It is wonderful. Eat a lot of yogurt and the yogurt mode works really well. It's really great to think at 5:00 "You know, I'd really like to have pot roast for dinner tonight" and it's on the plates by 7:30. A pot of beans in 40 minutes. It's a procrastinators dream!
ReplyDeleteAbout the ONLY thing we HAVEN'T used it as is a slow cooker, rofl!
One thing to learn: reduce the amount of liquid when moving your slow cooker recipes over to pressure cooking, or you end up with soup instead of stew ...
I'll keep that in mind about the pressure cooking! It's something that is new to me. I am loving this little machine. I big step up in our household. And you are so right about it being a procrastinator's dream!
