It's Monday, blogging pals, and I'm happy to be back. I didn't post last week because there are just too many things going on lately and I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed. But I can't stay away for long, otherwise, who's going to make you laugh? I have a responsibility to keep you smiling, folks, and I take it seriously.
We're still in lockdown but that should be easing up very soon. Restrictions will be lessened and some businesses will start opening up. The only thing I honestly miss is being able to go out to a restaurant from time to time. With friends, preferably, but I don't see that happening for a while.
Anyhoo... What are you all up to lately? What have you been watching, reading, doing, learning, practicing, attempting? We finished the movies "Dig" (slow pace but enjoyable), "Boy Erased" (should have gone deeper) and "Brimstone" (too much gore). And we're zipping through the comedy "Superstore" and the third season of the series "The Sinner". Have any of you seen any of these? Any suggestions for Netflix?
Before I share the funny stuff, here's some food for thought:
Time for some humour. Have a wonderful day and an amazing week!
The cat kept getting three wishes? No wonder they have nine lives.
ReplyDeleteThey are sneaky little buggers!
DeleteCute cat videos, it figures! We just watched "The Dig" too -- slow-moving, as you say, but a worthwhile movie!
ReplyDeleteIt is. The acting was really good, too.
DeleteLove that support group for first pancakes - mine always come out a little funky!
ReplyDeleteSame! It's the warm up pancake :)
DeleteLOL, though the top one isn't as funny as it is sad...Reading a lot here and back pain has flared up so enjoying heating pad and stretches and staying on top of laundry, bathroom and kitchen as well as Lukas and his pills.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling much better! Back pain is exhausting.
DeleteHi Martha, thanks again for the laughs. Always enjoy a play on words so "Carny-vore" is a great one.
ReplyDeleteAlways a pleasure! I'm glad you enjoyed them.
DeleteThat first meme is very true!
ReplyDeleteThe pancake one made me laugh.
Btw I agree with you, I miss going to restaurants and cafes with friends and family the most.
I'm really looking forward to being able to do that again. Just a simple pleasure, really, but one that brings me a lot of joy.
DeleteFunny jokes! We are getting through February Martha, it helps when the sun shines!
ReplyDeleteIt does, Christine! Nothing like the sun to brighten up our days.
DeleteI miss going out to eat too. I always enjoy the comics you find- especially the ones with cats. The pancakes were funny too. :) Have a wonderful week. XO
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to being able to go out to restaurants again! I hope you have been enjoying a lovely weekend. xo
Deletetheyre all great - the funnies but the cat rubbing against the lamp lololol. Love it. I am watching 3rd season of the sinner. I like the way Bill Pulman's character expresses - ...he always looks like he knows something you don't know. I have a cousin who is you put more white hair on him than his greyish would look just like my cousin Bill. I enjoyed the Dig, haven't seen the others you mentioned but enjoyed Search Party at hbomax ... and many other movies and finally dragged my butt over to disney which we have and I never look at and started watching Diary of a wimpy kid just to see why my grandkids like it. Very funny - the first 20 min. I am also watching All Seasons of Big Bang Theory again so I can laugh and I'm watching Young Sheldon - looks promising. I am in the mood for humor i can laugh out loud with. Hope your restrictions lift and you can enjoy sharing meals with your friends. Around here I believe I've seen some of the places I like setting up again for outdoor eating.
ReplyDeleteHumour has been my go to these days! There is enough seriousness around, so I search for things that make me laugh. Some restrictions are lifting this week, so we'll see how that goes. It's been too cold to get outside, which hasn't been pleasant. But that'll pass. Once February is over, spring will be around the corner!
DeleteI'm sure you wanted to know that I shoveled snow!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I did! HAHA
DeleteWe saw Dig also. The unicycle toon is a variation of the 'hey y'all, watch this' series.
ReplyDeleteHAHA! Yes, it's definitely a variation of the 'watch this' series. :)
DeleteThose were great, Martha! Have a super week! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed. Hope you're having a nice weekend!
DeleteI laughed out loud at Jim's unicycle. What a way to go. The only one of your movies that I've seen is Boy Erased, which I thought was mediocre. I watched Night Stalker on Netflix (four episodes). The photos of the murder scenes and the descriptions were unsettling, but I liked the interviews with the detectives who solved the case because their procedures interested me.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
I was disappointed with Boy Erased. I thought they should have gone deeper with it. I felt it was a missed opportunity to expose how devastating these places are to young people. Ah, well... I ran across Night Stalker and considered it, but we'd been watching one too many similar series that I really needed a break. It gets to your head! At some point we'll probably watch it.
Deletehappy day dear Martha
ReplyDeleteoh third season of Sinner have appeared ,glad you shared it ,we have finished Outerbanks ,it was fun to watch
the last one made me laughed hard
wishing you much more joy ,peace and health in days ahead my friend!
Thank you, dear friend! I hope you had a lovely week and are enjoying a wonderful weekend. xo
DeleteOMG!.....support group for 1st pancakes!!! lololol And all along I thought it was just me!
ReplyDeleteAnd BAM for the 'banana hoarding monkey'! Why do we ignore what is right in front of our face?
Have a great week and enjoy the lessening/loosening up of restrictions .
Right? We do ignore what's right in front of our face!
DeleteAnd you're certainly not the only one with the pancakes. My first one always looks weird!
Oh.....We are watching 'Shetland' series on Netflix....a British detective series like only they can do.
ReplyDeleteThanks for mentioning it, Jim. I'll look into it!
DeleteMany thanks for the chuckles.
ReplyDeleteMy two favourites are the pancake one and the cat one :)
I too hope restrictions can be lifted/loosened soon.
Here in the UK schools are still shut, non essential shops, restaurants etc are shut and family/friends visits are not allowed.
Life goes on in its quiet way, and I say thank you for our internet connection which allows us to stay in touch with both family and friends.
Enjoy your weekend.
All the best Jan
Always a pleasure, Jan! Some of our restrictions, particularly for businesses, are lifting this week. We'll see how that goes. Like you, I'm thankful for the internet and being able to connect with loved ones. Happy Sunday!
DeleteHi Martha thanks for the Food for Thought, it's so true and sad. Your chuckles always cheer me up esp the cat ones! This winter seems to be dragging on, can't wait for some less frigid weather to move in. Take care!
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed true and sad!
DeleteI'm glad you enjoyed the humour. Seems we need plenty of that lately!
I laughed really hard at the pancake one because my first pancake always ends up at the bottom of the pile because it's always so ugly lol!
ReplyDeleteSame here, Rain! It tastes good but looks weird :)
DeleteI hope your hiatus is enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteLOL! I made such ugly pancakes on Saturday, so the First Pancake Support Group was so funny. I hope that your break is productive! Take care, Martha! Hugs to you!
