Chuckles and Chortles

Happy new week, friends! How are you all doing? How was your weekend? What are you up to these days? Not much to add on my end. The week just flew by and so did the weekend. We are in stage two of re-opening and my hometown is much further along. Very soon I'll be contacting loved ones that I haven't seen in the longest time and book dates to get together. I can't wait to see them!

In entertainment, we are presently watching Black Earth Rising on Netflix. It's a limited series that is fictional but it does touch upon real events of the Rwandan genocide. It's quite well done. And in books, I keep bouncing around from one to another. I can't seem to settle down with one and totally immerse myself. I've read so many books throughout my life that it's difficult to find something that truly captures my attention. Anyone else have this problem? Any book recommendations?

Okay, let's get to what you're really here for...to laugh! Enjoy the images below and have a wonderful week ahead!

  3. Martha, thanks for the laughs. Yes, those who believe in conspiracy theories certainly do lack critical thinking skills. Also got a kick out of the court cartoon.

  4. The conspiracy-theory types are indeed the most gullible people in the world. They'll believe anything, just so long as it doesn't have any evidence supporting it.

The Bill Gates pic expresses something I've often thought. If anybody ever set up a monitoring system to spy on me like that, they'd be bored out of their minds.

  6. I read my first book since the beginning of covid a week ago. Now I have out of Africa. My dad was a voracious reader. One time I asked him how he could read so much. He said, "Oh , I skip a lot. I know what's going to happen!"

    1. I'm a little bit like your father. I don't typically know what's going to happen but I do have a habit of skimming through a book!

  7. I read mostly non-fiction, but one good series free with Kindle Unlimited is The Klepto Cat series by Patricia Fry. There are 50 books to keep you amused. Great bunch of funnies- I like the cat researching Scuba diving. Have a great week. XO

  8. According to one blogger who no longer has my attention, I'm a member of the sheep party for getting the vaccine. He's just jealous because I can communicate with my thoughts since I got my microchip. I can even turn on the TV without touching the remote. I especially like throw him in the river and see if he floats. Books: have you read anything by Anne Tyler? I'm a big fan, although I don't care for the first couple of books she wrote. I finished Clock Dance yesterday. It's not very long and parts of it are funny. I always relate to her characters. I also like everything I've read by Ann Patchett, Amy Tan, and Joyce Carol Oates. Love Jane Austen's books--Emma is my favorite. On Netflix I'm watching the CBC series Workin' Moms, which I think is very funny. On Hulu I'm watching The Handmaid's Tale and I re-read the book, which I love. I like some other Margaret Atwood books, too: The Blind Assassin, Alias Grace, Cat's Eye, and The Robber Bride. Here's wishing you a happy week, love bug.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. Oh, Janie! I love all these suggestions. I'm going to look into them. I have read The Handmaid's Tale but it was a very long time ago. I may get into it again.

I like being part of the sheep party. Very cool bunch of people with superpowers! Still waiting to become magnetic, though... HAHA
